Chris Harris Podcast (Collecting Cars)
Discussion
Just listened to the Harry Metcalfe one, probably the best so far. Really interesting stories about the start of Evo Magazine and various cars he's owned, car launches etc etc.
Still no idea why Edward Lovett is on them - I know he is the link to the actual Collecting Cars site, but he adds nothing to the podcasts.

I listened to the Tiff Needell podcast just now, very very enjoyable.
One thing that surprised me was Tiff's point about regulating car power & the potential benefits for the road, it's a really sensible suggestion. Less power, less assistance, more efficient and more fun has to be the way forward!!

I do love Harry's content. I get the feeling he really wants to talk about his vast bike collection, but it appears the audience do not appreciate it as much as the cars..
Also interesting how he and Chris are not interested in the latest and greatest super car.. Like I suspect many people, who lose track on the latest model being pumped out by Mac, Fezz, Lambo etc.. Maybe that is also an age thing, where you just have no interest in the current stuff and lust after the bedroom poster collection from your youth..

Chris Goodwin on the latest one.
Absolutely incredible career and what a lucky lucky bd, basically everything I've ever wanted to do. Ignore the F1 world and its trinkets, I'd have given absolutely anything to have the career he's had.
I always think the same about Tiff Needell, it's not the career you'll earn the 10's of millions, but it's the career to experience as many types of race car you can and earn a good wage doing it. Absolutely incredible career and what a lucky lucky bd, basically everything I've ever wanted to do. Ignore the F1 world and its trinkets, I'd have given absolutely anything to have the career he's had.

Made me more interested in the AM Valkyrie than any press release.
I've listened to a few of these, and enjoyed the episodes featuring Tiff and Richard Porter.
Can seem very elitist at times, like I'm listening in to a conversation between people of a totally different social and financial class.
There was an episode where they were discussing Dickie Meaden's 964 RS and saying "Of course, these used to be cheap - you could pick them up for like thirty grand. There'd be people going to the Nurburgring and treating them as disposable track cars" which felt a bit out of touch with reality. Maybe the comment was tongue in cheek, but at that point I realised that Chris and Ed are not your average men on the street!
I guess the clue is in the podcast title - most serious car "collectors" are very wealthy individuals.
