Really enjoyed it too, some great insights into the Ferrari film me and my old man watched over xmas-we didn't recognise Marino in it either! I've said before Harris isn't the best interviewer and although he did slip into his usual talking over the guest and the sound mix made his voice louder than Marino's it wasn't too bad.
Thought it was one of the poorest podcasts yet. Seemed to talk for 30 mins about nothing but syrups whilst Harris talked over him keen to show his own knowledge as usual. Would have been more interesting to have heard more about Franchitti (and his FiL)

There’s a lot of chat about Chris’s views as if they’re important? He’s just a presenter, only Edwards views matter.
Ironic ?.
hehe

I doubt I'd tune into the Ed Lovett podcast.
The point is Collecting Cars IS Ed Lovett’s podcast. Whether you’d listen to it if he didn’t pay Chris is a different matter! The post I quoted was related to inference that Chris is at the helm, he is not. I’m sure Ed will take his views on board, but this isn’t Chris’s gig.

Indeed. If I recall correctly, Harris isn't even listed as a director of the company.

Yep, you've nailed it. Nobody without grandchildren has ever bought a Volvo.

We'll add lacking in logical reasoning to the growing list. laugh
Far from it, old boy.

The average age of a Volvo driver is 54. With that in mind, it's a bit icy at the moment, so take it easy. I would hate for you to slip and break a hip. Or worse, make the chip on your shoulder worse.
The couple who live opposite me are in their late 30's with two young children and they drive a Volvo XC40. One of our very rude nephews once said, he thought it looked bad when old people have sports cars.

I am sure that Chris has said before he did do it as a favour to Edward, this was because his Top Gear contract didnt allow hime to be paid ( i think )

Ownership of the CC company is one thing, but the subtitle of the podcast is Chris Harris and Guests. No matter the ownership structure, Harris is the frontman. It's also possible that he is a shareholder in the company without being a director, but that's not really relevant to the podcast.

I don't care one jot, who owns what etc...Can't remeber seeing Zanuck & Brown playing either Quint or Brody. They put the best guys forward, no ego involved.

Schoffel Waffle adds zero to the Podcasts IMO ...just a nasel drone in the background whom CH refers to as Boss from time to time...utter cringe..

Edmonston is a shareholder. Harris is not.

Finally got around to catching up on a few episodes on a long drive this morning, and was amused to hear my car being discussed as "Peak Land Rover" and "a unicorn" on episode 49. Lovely to hear the chaps waxing lyrical about a car (the Discovery 3/4) that has garnered such a poor reputation for reliability in recent years.

Fully agree with the sentiment that it represents a much more logical progression from the Defender than either the new Defender or the Grenadier. If only LR hadn't made them so bloody complicated!

On the main podcast, I liked this week's. What they said about the EV market ties in with the Harry's Garage video. Manish talking about driving a Ferrari 456, it was good to see how much he got from it.

Indeed!

Neil mentioned before about a significant call out for the custard test on here in the past but cannot remember for what.

The only one that sticks in the memory is Jason Plato.

If you're referring to Plato then yes, the whole thing came about for Plato to prove who he was to the forum. No idea what this Neil has to do with it.

Neil Clifford is the originator of the PH Custard Test, not Plato.

Edit - it's referenced further up the thread.

Yes. Custard came before Plato, but I can't find it. It's not on the legendary thread wiki.
