Was thinking earlier about how recent (unfinished or abandoned) storylines in Corrie have been about health in the main. They've done to my knowledge-
Ken- went senile after a stroke, all cleared up
Carla- drinking, liver failure, then psychotic, now almost right as rain.
Young lass with baby and cancer- terminal /life threatening? Now seemingly cured.
Tim- heart attack and health issues- "poof"! All gone
Craig (is he still in it?) OCD and couldn't leave home. All fixed up and detective in training.
Squinty double timing chef- heart attack or similar? Fit as a fiddle now and taking care of two ladies plus hundreds of miles a week driving around plus running a busy bistro..

I suspect if the next big storyline isn't county lines related it soon will be, fall back position being another curable health issue..

Other than that in the last year we've seen lesbian stories, gay, violence and loan sharking, murder and body burials, there surely aren't any other topical stories left, unless she's got plastic bag poisoning somehow or a bad case of global warming disease?
And I'll be watching it again tomorrow lol!

Maybe an actors illness is written in around pay and contract negotiation time. It does put the producers in a very strong negotiating position.

Evelyn was superb tonight - "Piddlesticks" and "Lemon Drizzle".

Another Tardis in Sally's house. One bedroom for Tim & Sally, another for Sophie, another for Abi, another for Fay.........

Steam was coming out of Mrs WR's ears over Geoff Metcalfe's antics in Yasmeen's house.

(Yes, I know it's only acting, but she really wanted to punch his lights out)

biggrin

She’s been carrying the show for weeks. (Ok with a bit of help from Roy, Steve & Abi)

Great actress.

There are some good actors and some average/poor within the cast. Maybe it's the character limitations, Gemma shouting and screeching does my nut in, as does ginger Ches and his rubber face gurning.
Maureen lipmans character is developing nicely :-)

Is that a euphemism? biggrin

IIRC they lead to an "orangery" as I believe she called it when it was built. AKA conservatory.

Geoff is a total creep. I wonder how long it will be before Tim cottons on?

There's bound to be a twist whereby he has some incurable brain tumour causing his weird behavior, which will get cured in the miracle cure centre, or he is not really Tim's dad or something equally implausible.

Bit of a mixed bag last night...

Craig seems to have made a miraculous recovery...

Max has changed from being a mild mannered lad who wouldn't say boo to a goose to a teenager from hell in a week..

Geoff's really starting to pile the pressure on Yasmeen, the sooner he gets found out the better.....

I hope the Geoff/Yasmeen story doesn't run and run for ever, like so many Corrie plotlines. I find it uncomfortable, as I suppose it should be, but I'd much rather have some humour. Even Steve has had to adopt a serious tone. Are we now going through a series of plots akin to Eastenders, all doom and gloom? Thank God for Evelyn and Mary.

Yasmeen suddenly and conveniently changed from being a confident successful small business owner to quivering wreck who can't remember passwords and who'll happily be dominated by a geriatric local hospital radio presenter... something fishy lol

That Geoff bloke is getting on my tits, and defacto on my wifes and dogs too due to my running commentry and rants at the telly when he's on.

Well Tim is in his 40s I guess, has known his dad all that time, would have lived thru the divorce of his parents. If he hasn't twigged yet that his dad is a psychopath, I'm not sure he's going to.

Good point. I like the way you used the word twigged. That is all.......

It's another one of Corrie's famous personality transplants to suit a storyline. Go back 3 months, and Yasmeen was a strong woman, survived her husband's affair and threw him out, the death of her daughter in law, and then her son, business owner and driving force behind the community centre.

If she threw her husband out after 40 years because he fked her about, and her was a good looking man, why she's so desperate to hang on to that onion headed, failed DJ is beyond me. The Yasmeen of old would have sent him packing at his first tantrum.

They keep doing this, perhaps we should start a list.

Gail - normal woman to blithering idiot.
Sally- Snob to marrying an illiterate window cleaner
Gary - Bumbling fool to criminal mastermind

I'm just waiting for Kirk to discover the cure for cancer, bring peace to the Middle East, before he leaves the series after being offered a job as a project manager on the large hadron collider.

Enjoyed tonight's episodes. The dynamic between Steve, Tracy and Amy works really well, imo.

Actually, if you remember when Gary first appeared he was a chavvy thug, then the bumbling idiot, and now the criminal mastermind
