Just finished season 2 of Slow Horses.
Really enjoyed it and we were so engrossed we missed the appearance of 2 of our kids who were extras in it!
So if you see 'girl in background on phone' or 'barman walks across ', they were ours.
Roll on season 3.
If you missed them it probably means they did their job well as that's kind of the point of extras Really enjoyed it and we were so engrossed we missed the appearance of 2 of our kids who were extras in it!

I might be late to the party, but I really enjoyed Severance. I mean, *really* enjoyed. It was so well written.
Just a brilliant character study based on a rather surreal premise. Glad that they're making a second series.
I started watching it in bed when I had Covid (for the first time) last September. I felt dreadful but this really drew me in. Just a brilliant character study based on a rather surreal premise. Glad that they're making a second series.
Also looking forwards to the next series, which they seem to have been dropping hints about recently. Hopefully it remains as strong as the first.

Slow Horses
Really liking this. Halfway through S2.One oddity is that partly because Jack Lowden looks quite a bit like a young Simon Pegg and partly because of the village setting of Upshot, I'm half expecting a Hot Fuzz moment with loose Swans and an old bloke with a big coat and guns to appear!
Just finished up Constellation.
It sagged rather majorly in the middle but pulled its britches up by the end.
Am probably too thick and lazy to stay on top of wavering realities but enjoyed it anyway.
I wonder if Ms. Rapace ever feels like playing a streak of characters who are sunny and well adjusted.

Once I'd worked out where they were going with the story, I think it dragged a bit.It sagged rather majorly in the middle but pulled its britches up by the end.

Interesting ending but despite that, I'd be surprised if they commission a second series.

Apple seem pretty unusual in that they don't kill off series on a whim, but if I were paying for S2 I'd want a bit more momentum and payoff. Not sure whether the makers actually want to do another one, but it's a gig so I guess they will.
Just started S3 of Slow Horses and enjoying it immensely.
There is a lengthy thread running about Masters of the Air - slightly lukewarm reviews there but after a shaky start I really liked it - it’s worth persevering…
Was in two minds about Constellation after one episode but given the comments above I’ll drop it I think.
I renewed my subscription to watch the latest series of For All Mankind but - rather annoyingly - they keep releasing just enough stuff to justify keeping my subscription running.
With the exception of Invasion I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything I’ve tried. For me the big surprises were Bad Sisters and the Morning Show (only watched S1 of the latter) - I thought neither would be for me on the basis of the trailers but they were both excellent…

Slow horses is brilliant IMO and I really enjoyed Masters of the Air in spite of all the anoraks in the other thread complaining about the turrets being the wrong version for the type of aircraft. I'm reading the book and the events in the series are real but not in the same order but I can forgive that as it would make the series boring if they were too spaced out. The anti-British events are a bit irritating but par for the course in an American series. There is a lengthy thread running about Masters of the Air - slightly lukewarm reviews there but after a shaky start I really liked it - it’s worth persevering…

I'm persevering with Constellation and catching up with the latest series of For All Mankind. I did watch Still which is the film about Michael J Fox and it is really good but also moving seeing someone with the world at his feet suffering like he is.

I really enjoyed Masters of the Air too. Also worth watching the short film Apple are streaming with interviews with the characters that were portrayed in the series. It’s narrated by Tom Hanks. The real ‘Rosie’ Rosenthal is an absolute hero!
I watched this with the OH last week and it is really good. I almost felt that the series downplayed what the actual flyers had to go through. In the book it really lets you know what the effects of constantly flying these missions did to the crews.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
