"Mythic Quest"

Finding it "quite" good - not sensationally good, somewhat predictable, but good for a chuckle or two - took a little while to get into it, but I think that's because we got a gentle scene-setting to start.....

6/10

Well that’s a big turn up. I have no particular love for Carrell, Crudup or Aniston or the rest.

But I have, at last, tuned into the first episode of “The Morning Show” and I think I’m HOOKED! Much more powerful performances and storyline than I had expected!!!

Can’t wait to see how this one develops....

Maybe I am missing where to find the content, but there seems to be only about 10 shows on ATV+. Crap when you consider Netflix/Amazon has thousands of box sets/films.

Most the content on the app is all the pay-per-view (iTunes) stuff, no way to set a filter to show only content you don’t have to pay for).

Got it free for a year with replacement iPhone so glad I am not paying for it. Unless they are adding hundreds of shows then I don’t see the point. Certainly won’t be renewing.

Correct

(Well, they've only just started, and that's why they're giving it away for free / as a loss leader)

It’s been going for a fair few months now and. They’ve gone from about 8 to 10. At this rate there’ll be about 15 at the end of the year. Given that most people only watch about 1 in 10 titles it’s very poor value.

Netflix must add about double that amount of content every week!

I liked it more than you. There is a 'Silicon Valley' vibe to this and I think they've got the comedic/narrative balance spot on.

I'll happily give it an 8/10.

I also watched 'See', which was way better than I was expecting and a very solid 7/10.

Totally agree that the number of available shows is pitifully low. However, I've signed up for a single month and will easily get through everything that interests me (about 4 or 5 shows) which actually feels like pretty good value for just £4.99. In a few months time, when they've added some more decent shows, I'll sign up for another month.

The quality of what I've seen so far seems very high.

Netflix costs me £11.99 a month (for the 4k variant) and is 80% guff with an occasional gem to keep me interested (and subscribed!)

Yes, I think apple are going for quality rather than quantity. Yes Netflix has far more, but they have been operating for far longer and is full of rubbish, with some excellent shows thrown into the mix.

I have high hopes for Apple TV in the longer term.

Well, I finally made a start on The Morning Show and boy! was that so much better than I expected - star performance for me was Billy Crudup, but a lot of great stuff.

Now I've just got into Little America - and, no, it's nothing like Little Britain biggrin

I wasn't too excited by the first two, but the third is definitely good and Ep 4 is definitely the best so far - "The Silence" - funny, charming, touching- just brilliant!!!

Highly, highly recommended - 9.5/10

An absolute must watch if you are a fan. Half Mike D/Ad Rock on stage talking about their career and half documentary style with old interviews etc. Loved it, surprised it was released on Apple though

Got into Home Before Dark a week or so back and our interest went from lukewarm to full on"when-have-we-got-time-for-next-episode" very quickly. Surprisingly entertaining whodunnit, despite the usual American moralising - and all the better for a couple of good acting performances, not least the amazing lead girl and her father and the perspective shifting from adults to children.

Underneath, it's the archetypal story of how a community falls apart, falls apart a bit more and then .... falls apart some more. Not for everyone, but maybe give it a try. Excellent production values that come with all that Apple puts out.

Really enjoying this and actually enjoying it being released weekly and having something to look forward to rather than binging in 1/2 evenings

I loved this. watched the full series twice last week.

Also, watched few episodes of Home. Some better than others, but overall pretty good.

I’ve just watched episode 1 and really enjoying it also. Some funny lines but by no means a comedy.

It reminds me of The Newsroom’ that I enjoyed a few years ago.

Great show + JK Simmons is now the Don after Whiplash.

Liked it, nicely done. 9/10.

ETA apart from the poor ending.
