Great show + JK Simmons is now the Don after Whiplash.

Liked it, nicely done. 9/10.

ETA apart from the poor ending.

You think he plays a good scumbag in this - try Oz:

For all mankind.

An alternative version of the space race. It’s very good.

I’m a bit of a space geek so it helps.

Long way up.

Ewan Mcgregor and Charlie Boorman on one of their adventures. I've never seen the previous trips/series they have both done previously.

Anyway, This time they use electric bikes and electric pickup trucks as support er trucks. Just binged the first 4 episodes. It's just nice tv to watch, thoroughly interesting, some great music in the background and beautifully filmed.

Good!

We're on "the Long Way Up" which, of course, is both fun and fascinating, and I'm noticing "Tehran" which I think will be next ...

And I heard a review on the wireless of "Tiny World"... I think that may turn out to be a must-watch too.

They may not have turned out lots, but it's all a high quality.

Agreed, two episodes in and it's very promising.

The writer/producer is Bill Lawrence, who wrote/produced pretty much every episode of Spin City, Scrubs and Cougar Town.

The UK/US humour mix is pretty much spot on so far.

This has been one of the finds of the year so far for me. A feelgood show that isn't mawkish or sentimental, but just great writing and with strong characters and fine acting. I found myself binge watching the first 4 shows. Just finished it and pleased to hear it's been re-commissioned for a second series.

Just started on “Earth at Night in Colour” and listening with Spatial Audio on via AirPods Pro on an iPad.

I have to say they have outdone themselves here. Outstanding stuff (although I might be a bit tired of Hiddleston’s narration now) and some incredible night photography paired with a fantastic audio experience!

Highly recommended. 9 howling hyenas out of 10 bellowing lions!

Anyone seen Fireball Visitors From Darker Worlds? Looks good and anything involving Werner herzog is usually worth watching....

Currently re-watching Ted Lasso already - still loads of thing I missed by laughing over them the first time.

It's better 2nd time around, if anything.

I’m just about to cancel my free my year’s trial given I haven’t ever watched anything in the 11 months I’ve had it. 🙄

Before I do, are there any shows other than the ones mentioned above? I’m having a look now and can’t see anything worth £5 pm.

The morning show is pretty good, though it’s a bit heavy on the me too stuff.

Also ‘see’ I really enjoyed though it’s objectively trashy sci fi. It really shines on a good dark oled

Thanks. I decided to give TMS a go and am really enjoying it, although the AppleTV app on my LG TV seems a bit glitchy.
Should be able to binge that before my free year expires in Feb, and will probably still cancel then (might try See if I have time).
Apple is usually really good when they release hardware and software - I’m surprised at the lack of content on AppleTV.

The Long Way Up.

Great background TV, despite the ongoing mystery of why Ewan is so taken with utter dipstick Charlie, and why the incompetent producers are so happy to be shown on TV flapping around as they do.

Enjoyed it.

Three episodes into The Morning Show, and very much enjoying that too.
