Hi all!

I’m the new ZR-1 owner… ! Totally overwhelmed by the response to the videos thanks to Jonny. I wasn’t expecting to go from 600 subs to 11,000+ and counting to be honest!

To clear up a few points:

Re the editing of Jonny’s video, arranging the shoot was all very last minute and I think Jonny had to use a different videographer and editor than usual , plus the logistics of filming on the day was a challenge due to various reasons. We actually spent hours making sure the engine wasn’t seized and that everything internally had plenty of lubrication. The front wheels took quite a lot of time to free off - We are really trying to be as sympathetic as possible so as not to damage anything or cause further problems so it was and is quite a slow process.

Jonny is an absolute legend and was a joy to film with on the day - His personality and passion is just the same in real life and he is a really fun bloke to be around. I massively appreciate the leg up he’s given us as well!

Re our filming, I agree is needs work and I’m not particularly happy with the first two videos… Video 3 will be similar (slightly better). From video 4 onwards the quality will be leaps and bounds ahead - I’ll be shooting with my Canon R6 on a tripod/gimbal and both of us will be properly mic’d up. I feel like I have a responsibility to provide high quality content now that we’ve got so much interest in the project!

Thanks to all who are supporting us and for all the positive comments… more coming soon although frustratingly I’m on holiday now in Morocco for a week so can’t do a lot until next week!

Amazing uplift in subscribers already good luck with getting it back on the road.

I recently found one of these ZR1 seemingly abandoned in a hotel car park had been there for a few weeks flat tyre and rusty disks then it got a council destruction notice so I put some posts up to see if anyone knew the cars owner.

Luckily the owner was found and the car was supposed to be at a garage having work done and somehow it got dumped in the hotel car park - luckily he rescued the car. That one was apparently 700 bhp having been pro-charged don’t know if that would have been turbos or a supercharger ( that’s some serious power!)

I must admit I was cringing when seeing the previous owner puff and pant down the street pushing it having said he'd had a heart attack recently hehe

I'd heard of a ZR1 but didn't know anything about them so it was interesting. I think I remember Jonny mentioning this car on a previous S&S podcast saying it wasn't going to happen - but then obviously it did happen quite quickly!

Preparing a pre-production (so destined for destruction) Kia Picanto for entry in the Land's End Trial.

Not exactly the usual type of car seen climbing muddy lanes, so interested to see how that goes.

The Picanto trials series has been excellent.

A smart move by KIA in giving him the car, none of us would have watched a video on it if it was just a plain old review.

I never knew that those odd Suzuki X90s were rear wheel drive, I'd assumed they were based on some FWD hatchback.

Tbh it could be either as it's hard to tell which is the front or the rear.

They're a Vitara underneath, so ironically, despite the looks, the 4x4 ones are actually more of a "proper" 4x4 than most modern stuff in the segment.

it's as far from a barn/farm find as you can get with everyone seemingly knowing it had been sitting there for many years!
True, but he doesn't just make barn find videos and whilst this one might not have been in a barn I feel it fits the category, an abandoned car that he got access to. Anyone searching his channel for 'barn finds' would surely want to see this in the results.

ditto - enjoyed all three episodes. It really makes me want to give an MCC trial a go - straightforward enthusiasts motorsport.

Indeed, I suppose it's part of the trial elemenet but I'd be wanting 2 x 12 hours days in daylight only hehe

Gutted he didn't make it fully up the cliff side at the end, but fair play he (And the car) did well.

I assume there are similar events that take place over a shorter timespan.

Is it a winter only sport? I imagine it might be somewhat less challenging in the height of the summer biggrin
