Is there any amusement to be had in the fact he shot his own family member dead? Asking for a friend...

Can't remember his name, but he went down for double murder - surely killing his family member was a mistake so should have been manslaughter as there was no intent?

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he's behind bars, just didn't expect a murder result.

Difficult one this week, not sure it was all it seemed, very telling the woman had a history of false allegations including rape, although he did change his plee to guilty?

The whole situation was incredibly strange - according to the Police she had twice before been shown to have made very detailed and yet false accusations of exposure and rape separately and then almost the exact same scenario as the first accusation does actually happen.

When they stated she had made such similar false allegations previously I was sure the man's life was about be trashed needlessly

I couldn't understand why, once they got enough DNA evidence to bring him in for questioning and to supply a sample for comparison, they felt the need to go around to his house at 3.40am, and then not use the door knocker but tap on the glass instead. As they ended up just leaving him a note, surely that all could have waited until the next morning.

Indicates how run of the mill and prosaic much of forensics can be, raking through bins for spunk stained bog roll ?

Tonight's episode is a bit ho-hum.

Yea the episode this week wasn't that interesting, especially since it didn't end in a charge.

Yeah that was a wild story wasn't it? (I only saw it last night) when the detective was telling us about her mental health and previous allegations it was an open and shut case in my mind. Some poor young lad had go around to fit a smart meter, she'd had an episode and he's up to his neck in it. Goes to show the power of forensics I suppose.

Stupid Lad, not only for what he did which was disgusting, but thinking he'd talk his way out of it! You've only got to watch a single episode of any real world UK Police show like this to know the first thing you say in Interview is "Solicitor", none of this "but they'll think I'm guilty" bullst.

Think there was a new episode on BBC2 last night, two guys in a Range Rover are found shot.

I watched it this morning on catch-up, hard to fathom how the shooter thought he would get away with that, especially when he took his phone with him and didn't erase or switch off the CCTV.

Wasn't aware of this thread. Last night's programme is being discussed on the 24 Hours in Police Custody thread.

What I struggle with is: how does a guy with that little common sense get hold of a new glock?

Glad to see he got a worthwhile sentence too - 40 years minimum for cold-heartedly killing two seemingly innocent guys in their late 20s actually seems reasonable.

As does 2.5 years for the car wash guy for getting rid of the gun and bloody clothes.

Didn't realise this was back on, missed the first ten minutes.

Nasty bloke, good result by the Police though, the audio forensics were interesting to watch.

Agreed, incredible how they were able to enhance the audio file.

12 years prison does not seem a long time considering he had done it before.

Saw this last night, interesting program, especially from a tech point of view.

It was still basically old fashioned eye witness testimony that got him arrested though.

Does beg the question why the hell was he free to be out and about when he'd done something similar so recently.

Its scary to think that even 10 years ago that the police wouldnt have the evidence to get him convicited.
We never heard back about the DNA stuff I think, so it was mostly the CCTV and door bell cams that convinced the court about what really happen?

The fact that he rapped her regardless of the fact that he did it on the site he was working at, shows you how dangerous he is.

Killer at the Crime Scene.
Anyone else watch these? (My5 I think) Not too bad for a tech point of view.
