No need to over-egg it. You've clearly got the attention you wanted.
A clown shoe response
If this was some lad hiring a Supercar for a wedding and smashing it up they would be getting pelters and it would be pages long.

At least Mat though accepts it’s his fault hands up yep I can’t drive this !

Matt really needs to work on his thumbnail pics.
He looks like he's struggling to crimp one out after a particular carb-heavy weekend.

Bit mad to suggest it was on purpose. Mat is lucky to walk away from something like that.

Only the other day a young couple were killed near us when he misjudged a corner and hit a tree. You don't need to be going intergalactic speeds either.

Where's the clickbait?

Possibly the least clickbait-y video title and thumbnail I've seen. You see the crashed car, the host and an accurate description of what happened as the video title. You watch the video and that's exactly what you get, a crashed car and Mat.

Indeed. Normally you see thumbnails saying 'my car is ruined' with a sad face and it turns out a bird has shat on it or something minor.

Yup, just takes a stout branch to come in through the windscreen and Game Over if you're unlucky.

Not clickbaity at all and while the filming is a bit weird, it is his job so no different to the Kardashians filming everything at the end of the day, like it or not.

When I said AR1s can be good in the wet earlier I did explicitly stipulate ^if up to temp^, which is obviously nigh on impossible on a cold wet UK late winters night so not ideal.

I will say I’m impressed with the Gallardo’s frontal impact protection; notwithstanding that modern lamp standards are designed to with impact in mind, the lack of cabin intrusion was pretty good. Obviously I’ve not see the chassis yet smile

I thought the TDC 911 looks great (I wouldn't have chosen the purple, but i see why they did).

I am guessing the 'ring trip will pit the TDC 911, All the Gear 924 and AA's 993 against each other in some kind of cheap porsche / ring challenge.

While mildly repetitive (Plenty of other places to stop than the exact same restaurant in Brugge) I think folks are mad to not be interested in this content.

It has huge potential.

As mentioned earlier, I do think having some kind of marked differentiation between the AA stable of channels is important, but when they all come together for a big roadtrip I think it will be excellent.

Also, reading back in this thread.. some of the comments against Mat A are awful and you should be ashamed.

He made a mistake and has owned it.. get on with your lives.

Currently on the way to Bruges. How many times have they been to Bruges or the Nurburgring recently...........
I watched the first one from All the Gear yesterday, they already had 110k subscribers. That's nuts! But good on them!

I have to be honest though I like Alex and the AutoAlex channels but I get a bit bored sometimes, the one on the v2 channel with Taylor buying the G63 was one I needn't have bothered to watch. Most of the comments said the same.

Agreed, I'm a bit fan of the AA channels, but that was awkward and a nothing video. Essentially a Taylor test drive.

Also super awkward with the 'has he bought this for me' thing.. Like he did with Rory and the XJ.

Filming wise it’s just a natural thing. If you put yourself in my shoes 5days a week I get up have breakfast and I’m instantly behind a camera until very late in the evening. The only days I’m not is when I’m editing. So when anything happens good or bad your natural instinct after 5 years of doing this is just to immediately film. Same for my team and my partner. Don’t get me wrong if I was burning alive I’m sure they wouldn’t have been filming (but if I survived afterwards they know I would of asked them if they filmed it haha) but both of them knew I was fine before arriving.

I can tell you for free AR1’s are terrible in the wet. Slight bit of sitting water and your aquaplaining. It’s not an excuse and everyone makes mistakes but no one was hurt and I’ve learned from it. But for sure I’ve had every pro driver in the comments haha
My take is there is an obvious discrepancy in the clip - firstly you stated you werent booting it at all, later you said you were in 2nd gear at 30mph as the limit changed to 50mph.
2nd gear at 30 to accelerate into a 50 sure seems to be booting it territory to me

Dont pander to the basement dwellers on here Matt just keep doing what you're doing. I think any grown up with experience of proper cars has either been in a ditch themselves or can at least sympathise when someone else ends up in one!

The implication is that he can't actually drive, but after that many laps of the ring without too many crashes I'm going to assume he can. He must have some fast teammates.
