He used to sell fruit & veg off a barrow!
His sum total qualification.

Agree, cannot watch the bloke.
I remember him on the radio slagging off people who buy tomatoes on the vine. "Don't they know all tomatoes grow on vines? Haha!"

Yes you fking idiot, all tomatoes grow on vines. The difference is that tomatoes on the vine are RIPENED on the vine, not artificially using ethylene gas. In fact, artificially ripened tomatoes may not actually be ripe - the gas merely reddens the fruit.

tt!

He's probably not needed to buy any food for the last 10 years, plus he gets someone else to cook it.

Masterchef is filled with high-end restauranters and food critics : I think Wallace brings some relatability for the (middle)-classes.I like his TV persona if I'm honest. He's enthusiastic about food.

Compare this with GBBO which has a couple of clowns trying to use it as their comedy vehicle.

Liked him ever since 'The Veg Boys' on Radio Four. He is one of the lads, a real cockernee geezer and adds depth, knowledge and fun to any programme he is presenting or guesting on. He's from Peckham, What's not to like?thumbup

Despite my post above I don't hate him THAT much, although his "great plate of food" thing, er, grates.

That and the way in which he forces a massive forkful of food in and chomps down on it. Just not a good look.

(bump)
Yesterday, at the rice pudding factory:

Wallace: "That's a big sack of rice - how long does that last?"
Worker: "About two hours".
Wallace: "So how many of those do you get through in a day?"
Worker (bemused) "Er - twelve".

I always enjoy the looks of utter contempt he gets from the factory workers when he says something like this, makes one of his awful puns or suggests he's really good at the job he's been allowed to try for 5 seconds

Inside the factory is only saved by Cherry.

I can't accept that Greg is so monumently stupid that he asks the questions that he does and acts how he does. It must be an act. I hope he goes home and hates himself for it. While sitting on piles of money hehe

How the hell he got on the telly, I have no idea. He really is irritating.

Cherie is the absolute spitting image of an ex.

Massive, wide set eyes.

My mate once said "she has eyes on the side of her head, are you shagging a prey animal"?

In the Crumpet factory recently...

Factory guy - " and it's the yeast that creates the bubbles in the crumpet"
Gregg - "Really, I never knew that"

Seriously? All the years you have presented Master Chef and other food programmes and you never ever thought that it might be the yeast?

Especially since he was still alive when Greg Wallace was born

I noticed that. Clearly fake. But it wasn't fake a couple of weeks ago when he didn't close a door properly and it burst open. laugh Can't find it on You tube unfortunately.

On masterchef, we like to pre-empt what Greg says after listening to Jon. He basically says exactly the same. With a few silly noises thrown in.

I think he’s good entertainment.

I do like Cherry as well biggrin

When I see Greg Wallace now, I cannot get that Micky Flanagan's "Eat well for less" sketch out of my head.
