Mentally troubled scouse copper has issues dealing with lovely everyday Liverpool people.

Only continued watching it cos it’s Liverpool - otherwise it’s standard BBC bleeding heart social window on the world.

I enjoyed it. Well, enjoyed is the wrong word when you're watching depressing scally lowlife, but you know what I mean.

But then I enjoyed Trigger Point too, so what do I know.

Well, Martin Freeman nailed the Scouse accent, to my ears at least. And there was some good banter in the scene with Marco in the police car. But I suspect it's going to be one of those dramas where every single character is troubled, unpleasant, thick or all of the above.
Which means you end up not caring about what happens to any of them. Part 2 tomorrow, so I'll reserve judgement.

Typically gritty drama, brooding/mumbling/maverick cop, probably quite realistic portrayal of miscreants - at least it wasn’t flying back and forward in the time line as much as has become common. Will probably watch episode 2.

I quite liked it, I think it has potential to be a decent watch overall.

All I could think of when watching this was, it should have been Stephen Graham and not Martin Freeman.

Yes exactly - and he woudln't have had to spend a year training himself to speak scouse as Freeman has said in all his promotion interviews.

I started watching this, but I'm not sure I can be bothered with the rest of them, it's just too depressing.

Thought it was well acted, well shot, etc.

Only 'problem' with it is I didn't have a clue what on earth the story is meant to be.

It’s like Dixon of Dock Green meets The Equalizer meets Miami Vice, set in a slum.

Which is why I switched off after 5 minutes.
I struggle understanding the scouse accent at the best of times,to be fair I struggle with most accents.
I almost switched off during the titles as the background music was drowning out the radio messages.....to my ears anyway

I am 4 in - could not face the finale tonight. Found it impossible to do more than two episodes in one sitting.

I feel utterly depressed, although a couple of LOL moments in E04.

I will do the last one tomorrow, but does just feel we are simply kicking a can down the street.

Grim viewing, can't see a happy ending in sight for this one. You just knew he wasn't going to make that breakfast date with his daughter.
