If you get incensed by being sprayed in the face you wouldn't go and watch the film in a 4DX cinema. That's kind of the point of 4DX. It would be like shooting yourself in the foot and then being incensed that there is a hole in your foot.
FWIW I think it's a gimmick that should have stayed at the Disney parks. It's fine for smelling Minnie Mouse's pie as she lifts it out of the oven, feeling the rats moving around your feet when Micky Mouse goes in to the haunted house, and getting sprayed in the face when Donald Duck sweeps the floor, but it's not what you want when watching a mainstream blockbuster movie. IMHO.
Well, yes, obviously! FWIW I think it's a gimmick that should have stayed at the Disney parks. That doesn't stop it from being a bloody annoying and stupid thing, even if that is the reason you're avoiding it.

I have a question. In the original trailer, the first 30 seconds was a fighter jet screaming across the desert floor. I don't recall seeing this actual clip in the movie. Did I miss it in all the excitement, or was it not used?

It’s in the bit where Mav proves he can do the training route in the time neededhttps://youtu.be/qSqVVswa420

Just left imax in Sheffield. Great film ! Even though I did laugh when the Tomahawks flew past the F18’s doing about Mach 15 !
They were Tom Cruise missiles. The mission itself was really suited to a volley of contour hugging cruise missiles.
Carpet bombing the runway was a bit of a waste.

Surely other people enjoying being sprayed in the face and all the other 4DX effects has literally zero impact on you?

The opening sequence with exactly the same music - hairs on the back of the neck standing up within the first five seconds if you loved the original.
For me it is that 'dong' sound at the beginning of the original music that gets the next hairs tingling. No idea if its piano, or keyboard?Happens at 7 seconds into this...

Billy Idol's main guitarist is Stevens, who will generally give a rousing performance of the TGT during an Idol gig while our Billy is taking a break from singing duties. Only seen Idol once, about 6 years ago, so I'm assuming this still happens...

Just saw it. Possibly the worst film I have ever seen at the cinema, though I go rarely.
The only saving grace is the impressive flying footage, but it damned well ought to be. It had not one jot of what made the original just so good.

Watched this at IMAX in Manchester yesterday. Absolutely loved it.
Plenty of nods to the original, and the way they involved ICEMAN was quite moving really.
Really enjoyed it.
Someone in the previous thread complained about the way the Admiral, Iceman was introduced in the trailer. It was a bit crowbarred.Plenty of nods to the original, and the way they involved ICEMAN was quite moving really.
Really enjoyed it.
But for the movie it seemed like it was done differently, and seemed less of a hack job.

On a semi-related note if you love the Top Gun Theme (by Harold Faltermeyer & Steve Stevens)....

It still does. I saw Billy at the O2 in Birmingham in 2018. Steve had a solo section midway through and played a variety of things from Spanish guitar / flamenco style music to the TG anthem.
