How can you show the percentage of tickets sold when you are not limiting the number of tickets available?

The competition was limited by time, not entrants.
Percentages or a full number so someone can actually see the odd they're buying into. I'd like to think in his position if hold my competition to a higher standard but whatever it's clearly struck a nerve with some people here. Anyways I hope the Cayman makes the winner happy.

But it’s a raffle with unknown odds because there’s not a set amount of tickets. confused

You could have bought a ticket when 100 had been sold and your odds were 1/100. After that they could have sold 40 more or 40 thousand more.

It’s a risk that everyone was aware of and was made clear from the outset.

Most people play these competitions for fun, not because the odds are good. £10 at 500-1 is still a stty bet if you’re playing the odds, let alone what the actual (higher) number was.

It’s not struck a nerve with me, I just don’t think you understand how the competition works.

Well said.

Despite everything, it was great to see the winner being called live.

Great work on the F430 gear linkage and good basic diagnosis on the overheating problem.

It's content like this which makes Matt's stuff so watchable.

Totally agree, I didn’t know how the coolant worked before engine was up to temperature until he put that diagram up, explains it all and also why when you’ve had work done on the system at a garage the blowers are always on the warmest setting when you pick it up regardless of time of year.

The relay, switch process of elimination after swapping the relays over was good to watch too, I’ve been tempted by a 4.2 Maserati Gran Turismo which has the engine similar to this albeit 100cc less but watching these videos I think I’ll keep my money in my pocket.

I'll check that one out.

He's one of my favourite Youtubers and I watch both of his channels. I also think his dad is a great asset. I love listening to what he comes out with smile

Man is still smashing it and good to see his 'crew' growing. No knob-heads, just a group of guys and his dad having a laugh fixing stuff.

That was a good GT3 episode, stuff of dreams to own something like this for most.

I see that he has been putting long videos out to show the whole restoration, such as the BMW M5,. Nearly 3 hours and 10m views in 2 months

Surely the wrap he's put on that GT3 is temporary in order to try and get it done in 24hrs? In the close up shots it looked shocking with tiny air pockets everywhere!

Impressive that he did it but at the same time many hands make light work and it all largely looked like bodywork. The prices of parts was eye watering!

I'm also hoping the wrap is temporary. The original colour was so much nicer.

He even wrapped over the GT3 decals, looked so much nicer in grey.

I suspect that a lot of it was driven by the 24 hour thing for content purposes.

However, when you have the facilities and ability to wrap a car yourself, I think any wrap you put on it is 'temporary' smile

I assumed it was for content purposes so that it was all one colour in the final shot but you'd leave out the close up shots wouldn't you? Unless that's the plan and the next video is all 'what colour should I paint the GT3'....

I really wanted to resist the 24 hour GT3 - it's just so click baity but I lasted all of about 30 minutes before starting to watch it.

My opinion is that with his choices of colours and mods - he is a dick but I'm loving the content so who cares. He really is deserving all his success.

That wrap looks awful and nobody would throw that amount of money at a car that will always be a bodged up categorised car but what a great team, what lovable people.

I'm not sure at what point I'm going to start finding his format tiring but he's still on the up as far as I'm concerned.

Not really seeing any bodges except the wrap.

Once the tub dent is pulled pulled out properly by a body shop, and it's painted then it's as good as any gt3 that was repaired by insurance with no marker on it.

So you can't see any bodges other than the bodges you can see hehe

It's clearly had a serious wack but no sign of checking geo would worry me. There's a multitude of things that could be damaged that aren't visible.

My point is that it's a lot of money to spend on a car with that history.

I've no issue with repaired cars - but the replacement parts cost the same whether they're fitted with care and attention or thrown on for entertainment value.

I suspect that once the video is complete, they will do the work to a higher standard as Matt says he wants to keep this one.

Exactly, there'll be a lot of boring work goes on in the background but the point of this one was the whole 24hr thing, as someone else has said it's pure clickbait but it works.

My money is on the next video being one where he finishes off what he intended to do then drives it. He'll probably then do another all about taking it to Porsche for them to check his work over as he has done in the past and then we'll get another one of him removing the wrap in prep for paint with a big colour reveal at the end.

It's all about maximising content which is fair enough.

He's never going to please everyone all the time and I hate some of the stuff which seems purely for content creation however for some reason, I've no issue with this one.

Maybe it's because they'll all so relaxed and there's little/no false drama.

Looking forward to all the things you've mentioned he'll probably do but I'd put money on he'll choose a colour I'll think is in bad taste hehe

Just as well it's his car really. :heheh:
