In the video he suggests getting Marcus Rashford involved. I think he’ll want to stay well away from this in case it causes too many people to look into the incident / insurance carry on

I have to admit this was one of my favorite Mat videos yet. The sheer scale, size and scope of the cars he goes after just seems to keep climbing.

He joked recently about a number plate that he was keeping for a Koenigsegg one day... For once I think something like that (Or other Hyper car) could really happen.

I really felt the pain of the car not starting as well.

Finally.. Mansory parts can get in the bin.. multiple thousands of pounds for tiny bits of carbon badging / parts.. ludicrous and tasteless.
Just remember - "There's no such thing as a cheap theatre seat."

I suspect the non starting was low fuel considering it had a large hole in the tank.

Cannot see a Koenigsegg or hypercar ever really happening, due to the value they are rarely written off plus they will do everything to protect image and brand.

Fully respect Freddie got lucky with the P1 but that was a unicorn and look at the trouble he has had in rebuilding it.

True, but the same was said of RR in this video, they always want it back or written off but one or two slip through.

It would be interesting to know what RR think of that car being repaired by Mat, I can see them making parts supply and information difficult.

A donor car is going to be his only option I think.

It wasn’t fuel coz it wouldn’t even fully crank. I suspect he was right by saying the brake pressure wasn’t enough to fully trigger the switch to start it

How Mansory makes the value go up and not down is a modern day enigma.

Yep. Seems like they just clamped the hose so they trapped a load of air in the system that he was compressing when he pressed on the pedal.

That would be my guess anyway.

Oh absolutely.

Going back to the vid - I'm glad to see MA openly remarking about the parts costs being "disgusting" - but if Mansory can extract that sort of cash from their clientele then fair play.

I can see why he's doing it monetarily, but if it were a keeper I'd be buying an older Wraith and transferring all the nice bits over to that rather than vice versa.
Years ago I worked with a company to develop some composite Skyline parts, we made a bumper, sideskirts etc. One common item that was missing from many cars was the trim piece around the boot latch so I developed a carbon trim piece that fitted and looked lovely. The best part was that they were really easy to make and didn't use very much material at all so I could price them quite cheaply, so i did. I barely sold any. Then I got an order for 20 of each model (R32, R33 and R34), when I spoke to the retailer he told me outright I wasn't charging enough and that he was going to more than double my price and would have no problem selling them.

He was right - sometimes the price is more about what people want to pay and perceived value than a true reflection of cost.

And therefore has to be done else it's just worth whatever a standard one is worth (minus some as it's a mash up between std and Mansory)....

As nearly all custom, not sure why it has extra used value as the value is for the original owner only, but as you say, as modern day enigma!

For people with more money that sense. These folks live in a world where money / value simply doesn't come into the equation.

Within that group of folks, then find the people who have zero taste.. and you have a highly niche market for someone like Mansory.

The first owner will no doubt be given the whole make me feel important treatment.

Not sure what the second owner gets beyond some very tacky additions.

Pretty much unsellable for a normal person I'd have thought.

Was thinking that even at 700k that's what? 6 weeks of after tax earnings for Rashford, probably less with all his endorsements added in.

Akin to me buying a 12 year old Fiesta, no wonder he can afford just to bin it off when he inevitably does/did bin it.

Hard to comprehend.

I'm not wishing him ill, but I hope he doesn't regret his extravagant spending if he has a career ending injury when he plays Belgium on Tuesday.

Indeed. To carry on the analogy, you probably don't care much about the depreciation or the effects of binning off your 12 year old Fiesta.

When your bank account is 8/9 figures your perspective on money alters beyond our comprehension.

That's what I mean.

Third Party Only insurance doesn't seem such a risk then.

If that is what's happened.

Im struggling to see how Mat Armstrong will make any profit or break even on this RR.

Someone earlier posted that Mat paid £184,000 for the crash damaged car. Then from the video it looks like he was going to buy a donor car for £94,000

I definitely would not want to buy a badly bodged, cut and shut. I wouldn’t even drive a cut and shut car I was given for free. So I can’t see those with £372,000 to spend on a Rolls Royce wanting such a bad example.

I really don’t care it was previously owned by Marcus Rashford. Him and the Mansory brand label are meaningless to me.
