Looks like car vertical aren't sponsoring these anymore as most the cars won't flag up as crash damaged due to the circumvention of the crash damage being reported/categorized.
Can't see second hand buyer paying a premium for non oem cosmetic mods tbh so doubt it's really worth that much, unless I'm missing something a quick look on auto trader shows '16 facelift Wraith's with 50k miles starting at £100k?

With the Mansory additions it was £700k by all accounts, value will not matter as I suspect it will be raffled once finishedCan't see second hand buyer paying a premium for non oem cosmetic mods tbh so doubt it's really worth that much, unless I'm missing something a quick look on auto trader shows '16 facelift Wraith's with 50k miles starting at £100k?

What was the highest value or most bespoke vehicle you wrote off?
My mate crashed into HMS Broadsword (Type 22 Frigate) He was driving a hiab and the support leg slid out and hit the gangplank ripping it out of the deck of the ship. He was prosecuted for driving without due care and the Navy wanted blood but cleared after hiring a QC who pointed out that the gangplank was not the approved type, stuck out too far onto the dock and wasn't correctly marked.
So many people missing the point of this:
Matt Armstrong is a story teller, He is selling a story.
This awful abomination of a car representing everything thats unequal about this world is an interesting story.
It would be dull as dishwater to rebuilt a crashed boggo rolls back to standard.
Equally it would be cheaper to go buy a boggo wraith used.
The appeal of this car is that is was Rashford's Rolls. It was custom designed for him and its a 1/1
The story is the custom unfathomably expensive car bought by a footballer, crashed with a dodgy back story and weird insurance shenanigans, fixed by a bloke in a shed sourcing parts from all over.
Without the story no one would be watching this and Matt wouldn't be raking it in.

I really enjoy all the MA stuff but this one is.... well... it's all just a bit "made up". People who buy and spec cars like the RR via Mansory don't give a st about money, or value. They also don't buy used cars. So as we all know, it's not going back on the market for £600k.... so, it'll be raffled or bought back by the footballer.
Just all doesn't feel very genuine, plus, none of the carbon fibre tat is actually "worth" any of the numbers being thrown around. And as for the interior..... it's all a bit tacky for me.

I think you're taking it a bit too seriously, its just another form of entertainment... i am entertained, seemingly millions of others are too Just all doesn't feel very genuine, plus, none of the carbon fibre tat is actually "worth" any of the numbers being thrown around. Exactly the worst kind of advertising I'd have thought and I guess a light bulb went on somewhere at CV HQ. Feels it's heading in the "top gear" direction all of a sudden. I do hope I'm wrong.

Matt represents everything I feel sums up knob.
A likeable, talented and successful knob but knob nonetheless.
Virtually every car he's done, has been done to levels of taste my imagination couldn't stoop to.
Most of his videos are full of faked trauma and annoying people but I enjoy most of the faked trauma and find I really like the characters around him, even if one of them has a cackle that a Pendle witch would be proud of.
This latest car started out at a taste level that even Matt struggles with and we know it's not going to get better.
Yet, right now - it's my favourite YT series.
He deserves all the success he's getting from this, all the positive exposure.
I can't wait for his next video.

Plot twist: Rashford loves that 1 of 1 car and buys the completed car back off Armstrong for £500k.
I must admit this thought did occur to me too. He doesn’t care if the car has been crash repaired. He’s only going to crash it again anyway. Why on earth would he buy back a car that he was in an accident with? He'll just buy a new one if he wants to.

the explanation of the accident sounded dodgy to me.
Sounded perfectly plausible to me. untakenname said:

I'm not sure of the relevance in a comparison between a 2016 Wraith with 50k miles and a 2023 Wraith with 1000 miles.......?skwdenyer said:
I suspect he financed the business with equity from his properties, so the £800k is owed back to him?
Can you help me understand that? The last time I saw Matt talking about his properties - they were all highly financed and I can't imagine he's built up much equity in them in the short time he's had them.

if he can sell it.
Kind of key. Plus all the little bits might turn out to be a little different. He's got about £50k in used parts (parts that will sell "relatively" quick) in a £100k used car. The rest might sell, eventually, but I suspect after engine, interior, doors, front panels, wheels, bumpers, whats left will be weighed in.From the video, it seemed that Rolls Royce were willing to sell him the parts, but he didn't price up what that might be, just a rear wing.
The reality is he needs a fast turn around on a project, because, essentially, its a TV show. In 6 months time, no one will care about Rashford's Roller.

Not a ringing endorsement for the "impenetrable" Ghost immobiliser either was it since he got it going without knowing the sequence code.
My ghost would allow you to start the car but as soon as you went into drive it would cut out, unless you put the code in. Not sure if it had a max attempts before not starting at all though, never tried it. Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
