Oh! I keep half-seeing an ad for that on the TV in the pub, and wondering what it's called, making a mental note to try to pay more attention to the start of the ad.

What's going on with the return of old game shows? Double Jeopardy and Wheel of fortune are back this week.

I started to watch Drew's dream car a couple of days ago .
It was first shown on UK tv a couple of years ago .

Ant Anstead is hired to build a car for Drew Scott a USA home makeover show dummy .
After about 5 minutes I remembered why I switched it off early last time .

Just dreadful ,it made Tiny and Naomi's Bangers car show look like Mastermind .

The festive selection on tv has less than impressed me ,see above moan .
But the almost daily serving of a festive special of Only Connect has been a brief highlight .

Contestants of olde brought back to compete again ,whilst Victoria messes about eating cheese ,warming up a muffin on an open fire ?? ,and wearing fancy dress .

One female contestant was introduced as being previously employed as a banana farmer ,see username .
That received a chuckle .biglaughbiggrinbiglaugh

Just seen a trailer for Amanda and Alan restoring another house in Italy series coming back soon .

I swear one of the shots was from Lucca ,cycling a tandem of sorts on the ancient city wall .

If they ruin Lucca ,Tuscany and Italy I will never forgive them !....[as if they'll care ]

Just how much manual restoration labour did these 2 do on the previous place on Sicily ?

Answer ,very little I bet !
I will be watching to roll my eyes at it all .

Of course they won’t be doing much of the work, but how much do you think they can ‘ruin Lucca’? The restoration they oversaw last year ended up very nice.

Help ,we bought a village [CH4] is great ,Brits go to France ,Spain Italy Portugal and buy a whole abandoned village not just 1 house in the sun .

The work and investment required is off the scale and good luck to all of them .smile
The O/H and I have been watching this too. Although most of the properties are really cheap, they're in a poor state and I notice some also 'suffer' from traditional building methods.

One that springs to mind was a house with 'mud' floors? I think it was a Scottish chap that bought it (and a couple of others) but it looked as though reality was setting in when he saw the scale of the task ahead of him.

I wondered if he was regretting buying three houses...
Was that the chap who bought houses in a village in Eastern Europe on the internet. They were like £2000 each.

The whole village looked abandoned and the places he had bought were completely dilapidated.

I watched a few of the later programmes but they never went back to him. Shame as his was the most interesting story as he didn't appear to have endless funds, unlike the others.

‘Carmen Curlers’, Danish, with sub-titles.

Follows wiz entrepreneur Axel, who decides to recruit women from the neighboring farms for his production of electronic hair curlers.

Sounds boring, it’s anything but. Great cast an interesting developing plot, full of intrigue never quite sue which way it will swing next. An interesting insight to Danish life in the 1960’s; all of which is based loosely on a true story.

Well worth watching.

Law and Order - 5 USA

I adore this show and it looks like they are showing it all again from Series 1 Episode 1 started today.
And the return of the show ie series 23 is starting soon,
But right now they are showing the last episode of the original run called Rubber Room. It's a long way from what fans call the glory days of Lennie Briscow made years before.
It's a brilliant episode and a great end to the shows original run

It's always useful when mentioning the name of a programme to put the programme name in quotes - as you did, eventually smile

The cycling stuff might just have been a day out and nothing to do with the place they're doing - they did a few of those last time, I seem to recall.

Impossible to say how much actual work they did, I recall shots of Amanda Holden knocking walls down and painting and stuff, but that's about it.

I've finished "Billions" after it was recommended earlier in this thread, enjoyed it albeit with a bit of repetitive stuff and a lot of shouting about stuff I don't understand. Entertaining, though, which is all I need.

I've made a start on "Slow Horses" now.
