I found it ok, i was planning for it to be really bad so I was pleasantly surprised. Not to say I'll watch it again, but it passed a couple of hours. McGregor was very poor though, WTF is going on with his posture and walk???? And I struggled to understand what he was saying. That I'm not surprised about, after all, he's not an actor.

Well that was all a bit Fast n Furious. You can tell McGregor was having a lot of fun.

Not great but watchable. How much did McGregor make on this one?

4 million, thanks Google…

Conor McGregor will earn over £4million for his role in Road House, making him the highest-paid debutant actor of all time.

To me Jake Gyllenhaal is just a kind of CSI or NCIS actor.

McGregor may be the worst actor I have ever seen.

A better actor in that role may have been enough to elevate this above a direct to streaming movie.

Obvious sequel potential.

Wash your mouth out with soap!
A bit crap?

A

Bit

Crap?

It was a lot crap! Which is what made it so brilliant smile

The logic of the ending is just infallible. "We can shoot him now because his nasty kung fu guy lost a kung fu fight". "Before, we accepted his criminality, because our many guns were no match for his tank top". "Also kelly lynch's tits."

It was utter crap. It resisted all attempts to make itself a decent movie and CM just dragged the whole thing down further still.

Don’t waste your time - you will never get it back.

Maybe Scott Adkins?

Nope . He at least try’s to portray a range of emotions. Connor McGregor just has one. The maniacal grin with roided strut. It’s really weird how anyone thought it was okay..

It does ruin the movie.

I suspect he was told 'just be yourself ', in this role it missed the mark by miles.
It could have been ok otherwise.

Surprised to read these comments, I thought Conor lifted every scene he was in. And wouldn't be surprised if has a lucrative film career ahead.

None of these action stars do any acting do they?

Like the next Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal? Both of those have had lucrative careers so there'd certainly be a potential niche for Conor.

started off ok but turned a bit Meh quite quickly.

Would have liked the other characters (the young bouncers) to have been involved a bit more like the original where Dalton teaches them / coaches them. did anyone else think the Roadhouse owner paying Dalton $5k / week was a bit OTT for a place that probably only takes in less than a quarter of that per week judging on their sales? Besides the fact that glasses get broken / tables & chairs smashed frequently biggrin

I would never have thought that Connor / his agent would be on pistonheads.

Does Mcgregor really walk like that? It was so weird to watch, his whole physic looks weird to be honest like he has been squashed (naturally wouldnt say to his face, thank you internet sanctuary)

So as a massive fan of the original, saw it several times when it was released and many more since then, the new one for me was a bit kinda nothing.

It wasnt totally awful, but maybe halfway there, left more questions than answers on the characters and their backgrounds, ultimately for me Jake was just wrong for the part, he looked like a half crazed loon in my eyes whereas Swayze was just cool, properly cool,

i liked some synergies, the carry over of certain characters, certain scenes, and 1 exchange between him and Doc that was word for word, but for the most part it will be a forgettable B movie, not a cult one

Oh, and no cool car? come on, i would of loved to see the Merc 560SEC somewhere in the back ground, or even as a beaten up heap that he drove, i did catch the Double Douce though, but the biggest scene missing, recreating the 'for a great buick? ' smile

What can I say? The setting, the acting, the dialogue, the special effects all spectacularly bad.

It was all very inclusive and nice but dipped out badly on the hotties - fun to watch but certainly won't be remembered like the original.
