Don't forget to add the duties of an expert witness and failure to disclose
Also depends if the expert witness has been briefed of their duties. I suspect his defence will be that he was not adequately briefed by his employer as to his duties.

Let alone the massive conflict of interest he had in giving evidence.

Is ignorance an excuse ?

Failure to disclose by the PO in general as well (e.g. Misra)

Having watched KC Beers questioning of VDB, by her own admission she is guilty of PCOJ in the previous trials.

Does anyone know what the next phase of this exercise will be, ie post inquiry results, does CPS make a decision
Police have to put charges to the CPS & the CPS decides whether the prosecution can proceed.

Not sure I have heard any statements from the police on this - certainly not in the recent past?
In answer to this, and tele_lover's question earlier, anyone can bring a private prosecution. Indeed, Alan Bates has stated that if the 'system' doesn't bring action against the key players, he will, happily crowd-funded by half the population I'll wager!
Yes, that was covered in the last couple of weeks, but it's absent police/CPS action, which will be decided upon first.

Does it need any police involvement? From what I remember, Mr Justice Fraser sent a file to the DPP about the veracity of some witnesses’ evidence in the Horizon Issues trial. Presumably Williams could do the same after the inquiry?

I don't think it is an excuse, but it might form part of his defence as a mitigation. IANAL.

I'm not sure 'technically' (for want of a better term) but it would be highly unusual, maybe unprecedented for a private prosecution to proceed if the police hadn't completed enquiries.

The PO would not disclose any techincal info about Horizon, error logs etc, so it was completly impossible for a SPM to defend themselves. It was just assumed they were guilty.

As soon as it was known that Fujitsu could make 'adjustments' every conviction was unsafe, in 2010 when Avb does not recall the email

Wonder what we have today, Mr Beer must have saved something good...
Could SPMs not have applied for a Norwich Pharmacal order or similar to force Fujitsu to reveal information?

The human cost of this and the PO's extraordinary callousness are coming alive (sad pun unintended frown ) now.

Unprecedented? The PO did it thousands of times.

The police weren't involved in/by the PO were they - they simply stood aside if the PO wanted to proceed?

This is grim viewing today. I half expected AvdB to break down and admit that she had been responsible, as least in part, for the death of Martin Griffiths.

But nothing, other than continued defence of her actions.

POL management were so deeply committed to their corporate aims, they lost their humanity.

She's referring to the Griffiths family by their first names.

Like they're all best mates and she, Angela just wanted the best for the family......
