Masters Of The Air - Apple TV

I enjoyed it. It was not as good as the book but I thought it was decent.
If you enjoyed it and like to read and like a more British perspective - I'm reading Max Hastings Bomber Command at the moment. An excellent read. I have an interest as my Grandfather was a navigator on heavy bombers throughout the war. Reading this he was bloody lucky to survive!

We've just finished the series. I'm afraid it left no impression on me whatsoever.
It was simply an ok thing to watch over a few weeks. In particular I found it difficut to tell one person from another.
Still, better than a lot of junk on the telly but thats it. I won't watch any of it again.

This is exactly how I felt. Struggled to identify any of the characters beyond Buck and Bucky… won’t be rewatching. It was simply an ok thing to watch over a few weeks. In particular I found it difficut to tell one person from another.

Ditto, and I was really looking forward to it, my father flew B17s in Coastal Command. However if they remasterd the sound so you could actually hear what they were saying I might watch it again.Still, better than a lot of junk on the telly but thats it. I won't watch any of it again.

Disappointed overall.
Especially the fk yeah Murica bits, the flag raising at the end had me cringing.
In a few moments an enterprising American produced a United States Flag – from where, perhaps only he knew – and amid thunderous cheers from the prisoners, ran it to the top of the camp flag pole. It was a dramatic moment."[23]Especially the fk yeah Murica bits, the flag raising at the end had me cringing.

They started trying to paste Norwich in late 1944 with V2s. They weren’t the most accurate things so they peppered the area quite a bit. I guess the launch sites in Holland getting captured finally put the city out of range in early ‘45.
Yeah, what I was eluding to was the Norwich bombing scene early on when they arrived in 1943 yet the final "blitz" bombing by German aircraft was the 1942 Norwich bombings. I think a few of you are being a bit harsh about this series.
Sure it was no BoB but getting into it after the first few episodes, where I wasn't sure, I really started to enjoy it.
I got into the habit of watching the last week's episode again before watching the latest on a Friday. Helped with following the storylines and made for better understanding.
I looked forward to Fridays which I've not done for a TV series since maybe The Last of Us.
A difficult theme to follow as they were covering so many crews. They really had no choice, seeing that so few made it to the end
If they had followed a lucky bunch that made to the end of their 25 missions, then sure! we'd get to know the characters well but we would have had an unrealistic portrayal of the danger, the terror and the grief.

I've just started BOB now after watching this.
I started watching BoB a week or so again and just finished it last night. A different league to MOTA.I stopped watching MOTA at episode 5, same reasons many have mentioned on this thread but basically unlikeable characters across the board.
Im 5 episodes in, enjoyable but hardly anything is explained about the caracters at all. I couldnt tell you the names of most apart from Buc and Bucky.
Just seems very rushed, compacted and the only part that so far has got me thought provoking was when they had to leave babyface in the ball turret to crash
I will watch them all but really not as good as BOB or TP

BoB HAS to be one of the best miniseries ever, it's truly superb and I've rewatched it many times and never been bored. I don't think any WW2 miniseries will get close to that one.
As for the Pacific and MOTA, neither one is as good as BoB, both were disappointing when I first watched them as the characters just didn't grab me like BoB.
I recently rewatched The Pacific and found it much much better than I had first time around, so whilst MOTA wasn't as good, maybe in a couple of years I'll rewatch it and find it better?

Absolutely, Band of Brothers has a depth and quality to it that mean you can watch it again and again and yet you'll find something new every time you see it. Agreed too that The Pacific improves the more times you see it and I'm sure the same will be true of Masters.
