I've watched every series since it started out, and I am sure I will watch this but its just entertainment at this point and usually at how clueless they are.
The investment at the end isn't enough in line with inflation either, if they upped the prize to say £1m investment they might actually get some decent people.
if they were decent it wouldnt be as entertaining lol The investment at the end isn't enough in line with inflation either, if they upped the prize to say £1m investment they might actually get some decent people.

I have always thought the investment is stupid. As much as I wish I had a business idea of my own, I simply don't, but I could be a great asset to working at his business etc, but (not that I would anyway) I wouldn't be applying for the show without a business idea!
The last couple of business ideas have been truly pathetic, a bakery and a gym neither of them in anyway novel. The Gym apparently isn't very welcoming for females which was meant to be one of the things separating it from other boxing gyms.
The bakery lasted little more than a year before the store closed down, people didn't want to pay a fiver for a loaf of bread.
Took this photo last summer, a newer bakery opened pretty much opposite and stole lots of their custom though there's already four bakeries in the high street so shouldn't have been situated there in the first place.
I still think the first series was the best. The candidates seemed actually capable of being business people, not like the current social media insta wannabe's.
It's gone from a competitive entertaining show about business, to being a competitive entertaining show about people who haven't got a clue in life. The only constant is His Sugarness's finger.

Long gone are the days of candidates like Ruth 'The Badger', I've not watch the last couple of series, this one doesn't look any better..
Agreed! It became unwatchable! If this lot are the "future of business" then god help us! I know that we need the comedy factor but most of it's ridiculous. Most are as thick as st. LARK F1 GTR said:

Dough Bakehouse is still going in Herne Hill and Boxpark CR0 according to their Instagram and companies house. The Gym apparently isn't very welcoming for females which was meant to be one of the things separating it from other boxing gyms.

I'll watch this years again like always but the quality of candidates goes down every year, it seems its a stepping stone into TV these days.

Yet another BBC regular that is well past its sell-by date.
The first series on BBC2 was OK, but by series-5 was stale. Then they revamped it on BBC 1 and it has gone rapidly downhill since. We are now down to watching the final.
AS’s funnies are not now worth the airtime.
We still watch Dragons Den, but many of the would-be entrepreneurs there are simply dreamers.

Looks like they've acknowledged peoples gripes with it just being Love Island in suits, maybe we'll get a more rounded bunch of contestants this year.

Hmmm, I've only just noticed the link to the contestants and can only concur with the comments already posted

A 'colouful' bunch, I'm all for diversity, but no way is that an accurate representation of UK. I think they are seriously over-egging it now.
(some cultures perhaps more entrepreneurial by nature, coupled with sociological factors so some ethnic minorities will naturally be over-represented in business...i get it)

(Disclaimer: had black bosses, employees, girlfriends, neighbors, worked in four African countries... biggest guitar influence was Hendrix)
Government data about the UK's different ethnic groups. 82% of people in England and Wales are white, and 18% belong to a black, Asian, mixed or other ethnic group (2021 Census data).

Think it was in the interview stage last year when one of them hadn't bothered putting any stock on their website because they "didn't think they'd get this far in the competition", which to me screams someone who bodged a 'business' together after they found out they were on the show rather than someone with a business who went on the show for some investment and a new business partner.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-6810...
