I felt sorry for the poor sod who got the poisoned chalice of doing all the marketing on her own. (She really needed a second person, if only to say, that bit's OK keep it in, or that bit's crap, change it), when the person who gave her it went through.

Manipulated or what!

And is it just me, or are the two acolytes getting more and more annoying by the week? They certainly got on my tits more last night than ever before.

At least Tim does it with a bit of a smile. Karen Brady really does look like she's constantly smelling something bad.

I don't really understand why those two are needed. Surely Shuggs sees all the footage?

The final five were ordained before last night's programme was begun. That's why Rachel looked peed off from start to finish because she saw that her chance of getting through was hugely diminished by being with the other two, compounded by neither of them being willing to lead the task. Felt sorry for her as she'd been very good all the way through, but the sacking of the other two was harsh as Faluja did quite a good job of the marketing IMHO.

Just shows how this show is entirely manipulated to get the chosen five to interview stage then the final two to the ultimate show.

And why the hell they persist with the whole 4am phone call nonsense is beyond me.

But then I remembered it's just a TV show....
I like the idea that there is a whole camera and sound team there waiting for the phone to ring, then spring to life filming the random who comes down to answer the phone. Good how they all take it in turns too. Then the camera crew film a bit of the "20 minutes" of getting ready and saying how they are going to "smash" something or other.

They were stood to attention last night when the main boss walked in. She only smiles he when he tells a joke and even then she risks cracking her face. I think she's confused between a serious business look and a look of pure pout of hatred.

Previous candidates have said that the 20min thing as well as the early morning starts are real in as much as they do get woken up and have to get ready, but obviously the camera crew probably wakes them up a bit before and they're not going to leave without them at the end of the day rofl

The right two went again this week, Faluja was useless and has been multiple times. Seems lovely but lacks any sort of creativity or practicality. Rachel I thought actually shone this week as you're right, difficult team to manage but she owned her mistakes and they were perhaps rooted in her having too much trust in Faluja.

I thought this weeks was one of the best eps for a long time. Sugar was on form with his terrible jokes and it was entertaining all round.

The interview rounds have been massively dumbed down in recent years, I hope they've reduced the number of people they have doing them and we get to spend more time with them being drilled on their plans. Less of the X factor sob stories.

Whilst I'm looking forward to the interview round, I do think the interviewers are all playing up to the camera and being as unpleasant as they possibly can, which does get a bit tiresome and seems to me to be just as unprofessional as most of the candidates themselves.

However, one thing I was going to say is that Claudine has gone up in my estimation. If you notice, whenever one of Lord Sweetener's minions appears on "You're Fired" and we get to the "If you agree with the decision, hold up HIRED or FIRED", they always predictably side with the boss man.

However, last week with Maura I think, Claudine dared to disagree and held up HIRED! Bet she gets fired from next year's process...

I hope they don't have her royal Highness on the interview panel this year because last year she was being a dick for the sake of it and it felt very false.

Yeah she looked really sour faced last night!

I am becoming bored with the "Come up with a product, a brand and a marketing strategy" tasks; there seemed to be too many of them in this series. To some extent the show deliberately sets the candidates up to fail - it's entertaining TV after all, but to create, brand and market a product within 48 hours is nigh on impossible. I prefer the tasks where they have to buy a list of items, the guided tour ones or the TV shopping channel.

Anyway, Lord Sugar has no doubt got the final five he wanted all along: bring on the interviews and let's see Claude Littner doing his thing. There was a sneak preview last night, with Claude saying "These are the ravings of a lunatic" to one hapless contestant.

New task.

Sugar "I want you to come up with a cure for cancer, I want you to design, market and produce the product then pitch it to potential customers, you have 1 day."

Later in the boardroom...

Sugar "The feedback I had from the customers was you hadn't created a cancer cure you'd created a cure for dementia, what made you think they would be interested in buying that, what were you playing at.... you're fired."

Phil will probably get to the final as he's making money from his pie business, but what does he need this for?
His company is turning over a few million and his actual profits are apparently about a million pounds (I can't remember the figures. I didn't look them up but saw them on Reddit last week)

For Rachel, as for fitness idea, what can that possibly be? I think everything has been done, and the fitness market is saturated.

I did feel a bit sorry for Steve, he seems a really nice bloke, but that isn't what it's about.

I felt bad for Foluso, the branding and box for the cheese wasn't bad, much better than the jar the other lot came up with. Both videos were terrible! But I think she put more effort in and was by herself. She had been a bit flaky in other tasks though.

Paul is a likeable chap. I didn't really have him for the interview round but I hope he does well.

Tre & Flo seem ok still, but could both do with upping their game a bit.

There has to be reason he survived so many lost tasks and trips to the boardroom. That would do it.

Flo would make an excellent employee that could get to senior management, but is she an entrepreneur?

Rachel - boring, and on the basis that she just wants to open more gyms - that's been done to death

Tre - interesting character and I am interested to see his business idea.

Phil - Surallen endorsed steak and kidney pies? If he is making £1m profit pa, he doesn't need £250k but the endorsement and maybe contacts would be useful

Paul - seems sensible and stable. Wonder what his plan is?, there are already loads of dentist chains

I I was employing someone - Flo everyday of the week
If I was going into business with someone, Phil or Paul. Tre could be a loose cannon.

I think one task should be selling cars. One team does high end motors and the other team does cheap and cheerful. laugh

Yep Claude Litner was a classic case.

Initially played typical Billy big bks pit bull interviewing technique but in reality he is a limp cockapoo wet lettuce type.

But more successful than most. Net worth £34m. How much are you worth?

Slightly less, admittedly. hehe

Wealth is irrelevant.

You are conflating wealth with interviewing technique which is clearly what we were referring to.

On the show he is an actor.

The point I was feebly trying to make is that I doubt he is a limp cockapoo in real life, he does what he needs to do.
