The interesting thing I found about the crash investigation was the bulb check after, I saw on a motorway / traffic cops programe years ago in Southampton when a lorry had hit a line of stationary traffic that the bulb in the car proved she had her foot on the brake as the filament had glass stuck to it due to the heat when smashing, this light cluster was not damaged, so it proved nothing,
Why would the cluster on the FTO be damaged? It was a frontal impact on the FTO, a rear-ender on the example used by yourself.

He was trying to establish if the FTO driver had been braking at the point of impact, the fact the bulb filament was intact indicated that the brake lights weren`t illuminated, if they were they would`ve been broken as per the car rear ended by the truck.
Yep, this is quite an old one - I've heard of bulb filaments being checked like this many years ago. Can also obviously show if headlights etc. were on at night too.

Interestingly I've also heard of instrument panels being dismantled for a similar check - and also even forensic, microscopic evaluations of the speedo face background. Apparently it can often be seen whereabouts the speedo needle itself was thrown backwards in a frontal accident, impacting upon the speedo face behind it....hence giving a speed at the time of impact.

Thanks for the reminder.

This series appears to be on a Thursday then off air for a couple of weeks.

Tonight's episode is 3 of 5 (I think).

Overcast but no rain so far.

According to the commentary there has been some drizzle though.

Spoke too soon - heaving drizzle lost 25 minutes of play.

Off after 79.4 overs for poor light. Tomorrow looks favorable for a full days play - fingers crossed.

Good of the cop to lend the chap a jacket - will he now nick him for impersonating a police officer? hehe

Yep, a little more thought required, me thinks.
