Nightmare scenario being stuck like that.
Crappy driving. Unless you've had a catastrophic transmission failure that locks the driving wheels, then i you can get to the hard shoulder!
Sounded like he stopped in a live lane because a warning light came on. banghead

I had that shape Fiesta years ago, the ECU light used to always come on, Ford could never solve it. Wonder if he had the same thing - car is still drivable, but only about 10% power available.

Jeez, that phone call frown
Indeed, that was proper harrowing.

A good episode, I was surprised it took that long to stop the Astra tbh.

A question to BiB if any read this, how do you home and relax after dealing with a fatal accident like that?

We come home, log onto PH and read posts from the usual suspects telling us we're all lazy, corrupt, incompetent thugs.
Then we just get on with it. Sometimes you just need a minute, before being 'dad' again.

I know there is obviously protocol etc but in situations like the micra crash why does it take several hours to reopen the road? Its not like you dont know whats happened, bloke asked to stop by the police but decides instead to run, drives wrong way up motorway and hits innocent person coming the other way

I do enjoy WYP based episodes, local roads and cops. That phonecall was crazy, don't get why he just stopped without attempting to coax the car into another lane or even the hard shoulder.

Words fail me regarding the Micra driver. Astra driver was a tit too. I'd love to take part in the training they have to box a car in, looks like great fun!

Edit - I'm guessing they closed the motorway down for such a long time as the incident will have been investigate by the IPCC due to the driver dying after being involved in a police chase.

Quite a horrible episode

While I would never class myself as flawless .... this makes me even more aware of others

I have actually written to Points of View about the appalling scheduling of Traffic Cops & Motorway Cops.
Not sure if it the right place to moan but us fans of this show are treated appallingly.

Did you tell them it hasn't been on the I player either (Looked twice for different episodes and neither was listed) If not, can you write and tell them that too please. Ta.

Traffic Cops back on BBC1 tomorrow at 2100, episode 4 of 5 according to my TV guide. Not sure if it's a repeat.

I think it may be a repeat as Jamie Theakston is voicing it. Wasnt he replaced by some other chap?

You might be confusing Traffic Cops and Motorway Cops, as I did earlier in the thread. Note in the paper doesn't have (rpt) next to it.
