Copper nearly walking in lane 1 to tap on blondes window - surely not H&S ? Why not tap the passenger side?

Ok, who sets the "fines" these days? Where they set in 1963? They are completely ridiculously low. "fined £150" in costs. Pretty cheap for 4 coppers, 2 ambulances, 2 fire engines and a helicopter............

PH raised a lot of money for the YAA after Hammonds crash.

We, not police but on maintenance were taught wheel in when on H/S.

Was a bit worrying. Car with 2 kids alone, on the hard shoulder while the PC gave the standard Speed Kills lecture. I thought the advice was to leave the car and get well away.

The blonde was a clueless bint but the actions of the copper put all of them into far more danger than the excess speed of the bimbo.

Only a few weeks ago we had one of these moronic coppers get ploughed into whilst on the hard shoulder of the M61.

Thanks, my driving instructor told me wheels in. (That was quite a few years ago)

Really you think it was the copper that was moronic and not the driver who ploughed into a marked lit car? rolleyes

The copper should know about risk avoidance. Stopping on the hard shoulder is dangerous, exactly as the moronic driver proved. The BMW driver could have been prosecuted without risking 4 lives delivering a 'speed kills' lecture.

I meant the M61 incident. The copper you are referring to didn't cover himself in glory.

Taxi driver pleaded guilty to being over the prescribed limit.
Fined and think it said 16 or 19 month driving ban. Didn't hear any reference to his cab licence though, other than the possible 10 year ban they mentioned in the program.
Silly man, could have killed someone like the disgraceful lorry drive DID, 3 times over driving a wagon, what a tosser!
I have a lot of respect for the traffic police but do find it odd that they still stop people on the hard shoulder for speeding.
Would it not be better to pull in front of the offender and out the follow me signs on and deal with it at the next available exit?
Only my thoughts.

The taxi driver was twice over the limit. It looked as if he's pulled out in 3rd gear, so hadn't the power to accelerate away. He was fined and banned.

I take back the term moronic as I don't know any more than was reported on that situation. That includes the reason for the driver to plough into the car on the hard shoulder.

The point that I was trying to make is that our valued police officers and members of the public shouldn't have their lives put at risk by dealing with minor traffic offences on the edge of fast moving motorways.

Totally agree with this, I see it all to often in my travels, the Police must be nuts to put their and the publics' lives at risk. I watched the programme last night, my first thought was the two children sitting in the back of at the car on the hard shoulder, totally irresponsible, if the copper was so keen to pull her for speeding, he should have escorted her off the motorway first.
