Irritating Lloyds TSB advert that starts with "London 2012 is almost with us".

How difficult is it to do a 2nd voice over changing the opening line.

The latest EDF advert that proudly proclaims "Supplying low carbon electricity to the London Olympics", then you notice the small print at the bottom that states that the games get their electricity from the grid and not necessarily from Low carbon sources. What an utter bunch of s! How do they get away with this? smash

Teethwhitening toothpaste from OralB:

Apparently having white teeth(and 2 days stubble) lets you get away with rapey stalker behaviour with nubile commuters.

Then Holly Whatsherboobs comes on and witters on about how white teeth cure cancer or something.

And the other toothpaste advert.
The one where they're all sitting around the table and the bint with floss says "oh look blood!" and the smug tt says "Look at mine, it's clean" and they go "ooohh, ahh"

Reading that back it sounds like a scene from a porn film.

BUT SADLY IT'S fkING NOT!!!!

The one with the band trying to perform a really soppy cover of Ever Fallen in Love in a fking Kia and then arriving at an enormous sell-out stadium gig with tens of thousands cheering the drips!

Not a TV advert (I suppose we need an 'adverts that make you want to stab your car stereo with a Phillips screwdriver' thread. There's one they play on my local radio station advertising a website that allows you to compare online bingo sites as if they're saving you money. How about turning off the computer and getting some housework done rather than wasting money on online gambling?

While we're on the subject of radio adverts, the latest VW (I think) van advert that's doing the rounds on a DAB station I listen to, where the voiceover man telling us about the great features and price of course is playing a 'Proppa Cockney Geezer' because of course they're the only people that drive vans, so need an accent they can relate to.

Much how the Strongbow TV advert has to appeal to removal men and satellite dish installers.

i thought the same when i saw that last night. Also, IIRC the original word as coined by the Brit who discovered it was "Aluminum" so both the UK and US used the same word until we decided to complicate it with the extra "I". I am sure wikipedia says I am wrong but I am sure I heard that somewhere.

Some things in the periodic table end in -um and some in -ium. An American thought it should be the same as Platinum, Molybdenum and Tantalum. Europeans thought it should end like about half the other metals do.

All adverts where they use capitals where they shouldn't:

Prevents Wear and Decay

UK only, Rules and Conditions Apply

Once you start noticing it's an epidemic of grammar abuse, no wonder kids can't spell.

The Relentless energy drink advert. Some feral scum bloke walking over car roofs and bonnets singing a st song, whilst failing to look hard and angry. As the camera zooms in on him he looks like some kind of pig/rat hybrid, Annoying as fook. Certainly looks like a tt!

Indeed, as advertising goes it probably works rather well.

Still annoying as hell, though.
