The 'We Buy Any Car' advert that says on average, customers save £2300 should be banned for being misleading and irrelevant.
The fact is, they give you fk all for your car in the first place. They seem to harp on about the wonderful saving which is nothing to do with their actual business.
It's also very misleading how they show the people with the 'money they saved' either throwing it in the air or buying superfluous things. It's a purely hypothetical amount that you never have in your hand anyway.

The latest in a long line of pathetic "GoCompare" adverts have some toffee nosed tw**s on horses shouting "Fantastic Yar" with even the horse joining in! Do people get paid for producing this crap?
GoCompare has been mining a particularly rich vein of st for years. Like you, I'm staggered the ad agency gets paid for recycling such woeful crap.Europa1 said:

Bad news... the original annoying couple and their talking dog are back in a new annoying ad for that credit ratings check company.
It even follows the same premise as before:
- Woman: Oi, check our credit score
- Man and dog have conversation
- Woman thinks man is talking to her and replies
- Guy looks confused.
I actually didn't mind the one with the cat, apart from giving it the name Flearoy...

It's the frequency that they are on that does my head in. I watch Sky Sports News regularly and they're on in every ad break by the seems of things. It even follows the same premise as before:

Have you seen the really annoying kind one shouting "pineapple"? Grrr, that one is beyond annoying, thank goodness it's not been in a while!

Now they have taken recycling to a new low by using the "oh fan-tas-tic" taxi driver in a gondola with the same annoying accent and enthusiasm for their crap product offering. iandc said:

The dog asks where he's going and the bloke replies "Lanzhasmush", after seeing it several times I've finally worked out he's saying "Nan's house Lewis".Balmoral said:

Have we had those poxy smart meter ads yet? Grrr..
Those adverts appear to have been put together to appeal to the primary school (or younger) generation and judging by the way my cousin's son (who is 3) reacted with glee when he saw the advert and the 2 characters messing about earlier in the year, it seems pointless as he's not even old enough to have a smart meter The people that need to be most informed / reassured over the introduction of smart meters are likely 40+, as most people in their twenties through to early 30's will likely already be using similar tech anyway, apps, etc, and probably already have one fitted. I'm 36 and clued in on most things, but my mum who's 60 is more concerned over how these meters will work, etc, so how these adverts inform those who require it is beyond me.
Even more amusing is the fact she received a letter last week from her energy supplier telling her she MUST have a smart meter fitted before the end of this year because her current meters are evidently out of date. Funny really as they were only replaced 5 years ago because of their age (they were the original meters fitted at the new build in '96) so I'm not sure how they require replacing already
