Just saw an advert for head lice treatment / shampoo and it says "kills up to 100% of head lice". That's quite a wide ranging statement
Just like the bleach adverts, "kills 99% of known germs". What the hell is the other 1% made of because we really need to know about those!Anything that's ANYTHING relating to utility companies who are "with you" or want to stress the benefits of a smart meter
Just fk off
Endless TV breaks with JEREMY SMUG bd VINE telling us about his new morning show. Why give this tosser more exposure just fk off
Nat West we have been thinking. LLoyds with it horses
TSB with a comforting voice all of you just fk off

Delia Smith, with hands full of chicken entrails proceeds to stab at a laptops trackpad and leave billions of germs and half a raw chicken stuck to it.
And that's before Kevin Bacon says 'telly' and 'tenner'
Just F.R.O.
I live in Austria and use apps to watch some UK TV sometimes, this advert is on nearly every ad break and is driving me mad, I cant stand Delia anyway, I was treated to this same advert twice in a row the other day and almost just switched it off!And that's before Kevin Bacon says 'telly' and 'tenner'
Just F.R.O.
'Lets be having you' was cringey the first time, gets worse every time she says it!

I'm just reserving the space here for the new John Lewis advert.
It was on during the Bake Off and massively long. Bunch of kids doing a Queen song. I need to see it again to make my mind up if it should be in this thread or the good adverts thread.
Evidently it's a full on rebrand of both Waitrose & John Lewis whereby they'll now been known as "Waitrose & Partners / John Lewis & Partners" above the doors going forward. Over the next 5 years they're spending a fair chunk of cash in changing store signage / product rebranding, etc, whereby everyone from supplier to staff is to be officially titled as a "partner" in the business. It was on during the Bake Off and massively long. amongst the self congratulatory love in taken from the email "Partners make the difference. The name above our shops is changing to recognise that everyone who works here is a Partner in the business. From now on we're Waitrose / John Lewis and partners".
Of course over those same 5 years (alongside the rebrand) John Lewis have also, quietly, announced that they'll be making significant "savings" in a number of areas throughout the business in an attempt to regrow in the market / boost profits, etc. So for all the love in / rebranding they're doing with the new advert some stores will be closed with staff (sorry partners) likely losing jobs or being asked to change roles / lesser hours, etc.
I guess that's the not so warm & fuzzy part of the rebrand which is probably best not advertised in that glossy ad.

Especially the squawking little US brat! At least they didn't redub it into an English accent like so many other ads where lip synch is so far out that they are laughable.
Yes.. but why would they do that for a character who is already speaking English, and is the voice of the character in the film?AlexRS2782 said:

I haven't seen it, wouldn't that be covered in the "Bismillah! Let me go! " bit? Perhaps a back-and-forth between HR and the union? "Let them go! We will not let them go! No! No! No!" and so on.Edited by droopsnoot on Wednesday 5th September 10:38
new one for me - it came on TV at exactly the wrong time and actually, I was quite put out by it.
Its another one for Amazon Alexa or Google home, doesn't matter which.
Picture the scene: I've just spent my first two days looking after my baby daughter for the whole day, whilst my wife had to go back to work for a couple of training days before the end of her mat leave.
Then, this advert comes on TV just after we put the TV on in the evening after baby is put to bed
Its of a dad, looking after his daughter all by himself whilst the wife is out. And the Alexa (or Google Home) keeps giving him reminders from his wife like "The teether is in the freezer. There is a playdate at 3pm"
And then worst, and most patronisingly of all "Reminder: Your wife wants you to know you are doing a great job and she loves you"
For fks sake. If I didn't know that, I would not be married to my wife, and we wouldn't have a child together. Reassurance like this is brilliant - but she can tell me in person, or send me a text message (as I do to her) rather than leaving a fking patronising robot voice to do the hard work for her, which surely took MORE effort than just sending a message anyway?
Now I need to go and rant about Cocoa Pops... but this advert has really pissed me off

That annoyed me as well, but not for any of your reasons, just because it's annoying and patronising. Next one: the one for "Retro Sweets" from some company (Bassetts?) with a really annoying Haribo-alike in the middle of it.
With regards to the badly dubbed Calgon advert mentioned above, I find it really hard to get my head around the fact that a group of people sat around a table and reviewed that advert and signed it off.
Although not as bad, the Finish dishwasher cleaner one is pretty bad too. Both Carol Smillie and Alan "the engineer" are cringeworthy and in fact I'm really surprised the former done it unless funds are running low
