Remake

Work on a remake of Dambusters, produced by Peter Jackson and directed by first time director Christian Rivers, is in production in 2008. Jackson has said in the mid-1990s he became interested in remaking the 1954 film, but found that the rights had been bought by Mel Gibson. In 2004, Jackson was contacted by his agent, who said Gibson had dropped the rights. Stephen Fry is writing the script of the film.[5] It will be distributed by Universal Pictures and StudioCanal.[6] Filming will commence in early 2009, on a budget of 40 million United States dollars.[7]

they will get all the best british actors of course, pick of the bunch would be shane ritchie as guy gibson, supported by joe pasquale, russell brand, julian clary etc etc would be excellent, they could call it carry on dambusting.

no seriously they should leave it alone unless they pick proper brits with TALENT to do it.

Why should Brits play the lead parts? They're actors, so long as they look and sound the part their nationality is irrelevant.

A few Brits and ex Brits of all ages that could do the job:

Clive Owen.
Jude Law.
Daniel Craig.
Gerald Butler.
Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Matthew Marsden.
Jamie Bell.
James McAvoy.
Tom Wilkinson.
Robert Carlyle.
Gary Oldman.

Agreed, I'm looking forward to this movie having such actors as Jackie Chan, Omad Djalili and Denzil Washington.

Worthwhile pointing out that a significant number of the aircrews on the raid wern't british.
Dont see how hard it would be to get people of the right nationality to play there counterparts.

trouble with anything historical today like movies, they feed in the token black guy, token gay guy, token pakistani guy etc etc, not everyone on the raid was british, but if there going to remake it with historical accuracy then fine, but not with the attitude of most of todays films, ie we have to have black or pakistani or gay people to even things out just for the sake of it and being bumlicky ethnicaly pc.

What utter bullst. Perhaps you'd care to show me any of those people on films such as Das Boot, Saving Private Ryan, John Adams, The Thin Red Line, Letters from Iwo Jima, The Pianist, Schindler's List....need I continue?

it doesnt make a difference, if they do or dont use it, i mean why not swop lancs for b-17s, richard todd for tom cruise, and tell the story as if the yanks did it, just like u-571. then everyone will know the yanks really did it cos films never lie.
