It's revenge themed films this week on Film4 , Inglorious B'tds is on , as is Dead Man's Shoes and straight after Taken tonight is Law Abiding Citizen which I haven't seen before.

I was hoping to see Man on Fire in the line up , this is my favourite film in this genre
The Film4 scheduel for the next 7 days is pretty good (in my humble opinion).

PS I haven't, yet, seen Man on Fire but it is on my to watch list.

Worth seeing then? Has had mixed reviews...TB films usually seem to have those of recent times..

Great film, great premise but meanders to a pretty startlingly and hilariously unrealistic ending which ruined it for me. frown

Reminder:

Film4 2100hrs tonight 'Taken' with Liam Neeson.

One of my current favourite films.
Thanks very much for this shout, I watched the film purely on your post and loved it. 9/10

Even the o/h really liked it, would have never knew it was on or what it was about if it wasnt for you biggrin so thanks.

thought liam neeson was fantastic and cool as fk. Loved the fact he was an ex spy who could kick fk out of a room of bad guys in a heart beat whilst keeping calm and cool.

watched law abiding citizen after and to be honest meh, was really good in parts but some of the acting was a bit cheesy and was rather far fetched.

Saying that though after I watched taken it had a lot to live up to.

Excellent, I thought - but didn't quite scale the heights of awesomeness the first one achieved.

To add to the other comments re Law Abiding Citizen

It is a good film on the whole and well worth a watch but , without wishing to spoil it for anyone , the last part of the film , possibly 20 mins, goes downhill in terms of realism and spoils what potential the film had to be regarded as great

Yeah I agree. It was heading into Se7en territory, but then went all silly.

Jesus H Christ on a popsicle! Tried watching LOTR live action version but it is so jaw juddering st that I had to stop. Just like a beautifully garnished cak sandwich, it looks great and as soon as you bite into it, the disgusting bile and bizz seeps out all over your face.
Stupid characterisations, ridiculous plot/character changes, changes for changes sake, and moronic lets make everything easy to understand for the MTV generation exposition. PJ crimped out a massive turd when he made this.

Here are a few more for you...

Thirst (same director as Old boy) very good.

I saw the Devil (Think Silence of the lambs Korean style)

Memories of Murder (One of my faves, dark comedy/detective story based on true crime)

Brotherhood (Epic War story)

Lady Vengence (that man Chan-wook Park again, I liked this alot, but its pretty gruesome in places)

The Host (Another one that is probably as well known as Oldboy, top monster movie!!)

Then there is...

Tale of 2 sisters (horror) , Yellow Sea, Housemaid, The Chaser, A bittersweet Life....
And a few mnore I cant remember right now.

AS you probably noticed, I LOVE Korean cinema!

Oh yeah and have a +1 for Cell 211, Top Quality Film

Other than Yellow Sea and Housemaid, I have all of them ready to watch. I saw The Chaser and I saw the Devil. Both typically Korean in the respect that they are both hard hitting, beautifully looking and amazing films. I would urge that anyone that can handle a bit of voilence to watch any of the films listed above!!
