I did watch "Pride And Prejudice" on HD DVD, with that there Keira Knightley in it, innit? Admittedly, the film is a little short on car-chases, guns and bombs, but I really enjoyed it. It harks back to a more simpler time when "taking a turn around the room" was an acceptable pastime.

It must be said, however, that Ms Knightley has the neck of an ostrich. An ostrich with an unusually long neck, come to that.
Not a fan due to my passion for the original BBC version.

Did I just say that?

Don't be ashamed. I was introduced to the world of Jane Austen via my ex and the BBC version of P&P. Before that, I'd only been familiar with the works of Jane's brother, Steve.

Although it has to be said that Colin Firth looked mighty fine emerging from the lake in his wet breeches.

Like you say, when watching it you appreciated the more relaxed, slow-pace of life - reading, walking, shooting etc.

And the corsets.

the international...what a horrible horrible film...
Really? The trailer looked good, I was planning on seeing it this weekend....
I watched it on Saturday. It was OK'ish, but not the sort of film one leaves the cinema gushing over how good it was. I guess I would have been a tad happier if I had watched it on the TV, rather than having queued up and paid good money to watch it.

I have just had the misfortune to watch 30 minutes of "Tropic Thunder". 30 minutes is how long i managed to last before turning off this utter steaming pile of w@ank!!

If anyone gets the opportunity to watch this, then I suggest you try wiping your arse with a half a brick as an alternative. I would imagine it would be more fulfilling, more enjoyable, and better entertainment to yourself, and to others...

What a load of excrement!

I bought Sunshine yesterday (the sci-fi one not the film with Ralph Feinnes in), what a brilliant film and it looked stunning on Blu-ray, a proper sci-fi flick that doesn't have to resort to laser guns and evil aliens. Highly recommended if you've not seen it.

Burn After Reading.

Thought it was very good, and Clooney was great.

I watched this 2 weeks ago and can agree with this, the odd "WTF" moment, Clooney was excellent, Brad Pitt was very good as well (at least I thought so), so highly recommend it!

Da Vinci Code......as close to the book as it could be IMO and a lot better than the critics would have you believe

this weekend:

marie antoinette - a surprise. i was expecting a girly film or that it would be trying too hard to be 'hip'. ended up being quite impressed by it, it has a very natural feel and does a fair job at showing her human side. you'll love this if a fan of coppola's other films [virgin suicides/lost in translation].

cinderella man - great film, well realised and a cut above ron howards usual schmaltzy fare. this film also has the honour of being the first film ever to make me teary eyed - the scene where russell crowe apologises to his wife for having no money/having to send the kids away.

Watched Role Models for the first time this weekend; very enjoyable but it's not like I'm rushing back to watch it again, although Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott were very good in it.

Forgot to mention Shoot 'Em Up biggrin

The most unrealistic film I have ever seen, but still found it funny to watch!

Plus it has Monica Bellucci in cloud9
I watched this last night.
It was recorded ages ago from the HD movie channel, unrealistic as mentioned but really watchable.
