Sorry for the more than 1 quick review but hey... The Dark Knight Rises - 8/10 - Not as good as #2 with plenty of holes but still very enjoyable action. The Naked Gun Trilogy (again) - 9/10 - Just brilliant. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - 6/10 - Not as good as I hoped but was OK. Underworld Awakening - 6/10 - As expectected, dark & leathers Streets of Fire - 7.5/10 - Yep, terribly cheesy but love it & a super soundtrack too. Immortals - 7.5/10 - Thought it'd be pretty rubbish, especially in the first 15 minutes but I was really surprised. Very good watch. Woman In Black - 3.5/10 - Terrible, just terrible. Boring and Potter cannot act or at least act surprised for more than 1.2 seconds. Seemed like a intro film for kids to get into horror very similar to Insidious. Bad bad bad. Crazy Stupid Love - 8/10 - Loved it, cracking flick.

digimeistter said: Cleanskin - reasonably thought provoking drama. Sean Bean chasing some home grown Islamic terrorists, worth a watch 6/10 I watched that a few weeks ago, unusual to see him make it to the end of a film. I also saw a couple of films that had Christian Slater in them, Assassin's Bullet, usual clichéd stuff with a female assassin (they all seem to be these days) and some other film called "Soldiers of Fortune" which had Slater, Sean Bean, Ving Rhames, that fat Irish engineer guy from Star Trek (who has fallen into the same rut as Gene Hackman by always playing Government / CIA assholes) and also a Hobbit. Both terrible, with Soldiers of Fortune being the worst; characters that never seemed to match the actors, and the screenplay shows the kind of understanding of technology and the modern world that my dad has.

I saw Dangerous Minds the other night for the first time. It is very much like Freedom Writers but I enjoyed it. I like the Coolio song 'Gangsters Paradise' but I like the fact it wasn't overplayed.

S2Mike said: How did I ever miss "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" when at the cinema?? Saw it on holiday some weird Cable channel in middle of the night with subtitles but thankfully not overdubbed. Excellent film, George Clooney on form, very funny with a good story. A superb film in all respects. Just brilliant from start to finish.

I thought Clooney would be crap, but was very surprised! Nelson, and Turturro were superb. Don't think Turturro has ever done a bad film. My hair.

For any PH dads (or mums), would recommend Brave. Went to see it this afternoon with our daughter and enjoyed it. Also had a nice wee 3-4min film before Brave started called La Luna that was quite good too.

I remember feeling a tad letdown by OBWAT at the cinema. Looking back I think it was the start of the slow decline for Coen.

Just watched the Korean film "The Man From Nowhere" What a fantastic film. Why can't Hollywood make action movies where you feel something for the characters?

'Constant Sorrow' was originally recorded in 1913,but the version mimed by Clooney et al isn't bad.

Battleship.
Alien invasion of Earth happens to take place during war games in the Pacific.Gung ho Americans try to save the planet.
Good special effects.Plenty of corn.Rihanna features,Liam Neeson looks a septuagenarian.Incredibly stupid plot.
Great fun. 7/10
