I can't recall what else he has used it for, but it's the same twitchy mad drawer he always goes to.

Saw the second Mesrine film 'Public Enemy Number 1' on BBC4 last night. Excellent film, got them both recorded on that hard drive.

'seeking a friend for the end of the world'. I liked it, Steave Carell and Keira Knightley are very good in it, it's quite touching and an interesting (if not actually Novel, it's the same as 'Last Night') premise. Well worth seeing if you fancy the trailer and a level above most romantic comedies.

It got a good review on 6 Music the other day. Looks quite interesting, plus the sad bonus of perving at Kiera Knightly!

Elite Squad-The Enemy Within
Sequel to the jaw dropping Elite Squad, set a decade later Neto is now head of police after a hostage situation at a high security prison. after his wife leaves him he becomes a workaholic and is more determined than ever to clean up Rio with BOPE (the special forces he set up in the first film) however there are many bent cops who took payment off the dealers, and when the drugs are stopped by BOPE the bent cops no longer get there payments and get nasty...
More of a political drama than the first film, not in a bad way but the first film was relentless is dishing out blood, action, drugs and guns the pace on the 2nd has been turned down a few notches. The film is brilliant and far better than 95% of what hollywood has churned out in the past 10 years. if you love your action films with a hint of politics then it doesnt get much better than this. i would be lying if i said its better than the first but in my opinion its just as good. and the writer of both these films wrote a film called City of God...
9/10 its not perfect, but the negatives are so small and minor its damn close to being so
as a double pack for both films then 9.5/10. if you refuse to watch subtitled films (i understand some people just cant get on with them)then you will have to accept that you are missing out on films hollywood will never make. City of God lovers these are a must see

It did build the atmosphere quite well, although there were a few too many jump scares. My main problem was Radcliffe - his performance was pretty flat and he simply doesn't look old enough to play a father, especially when parenthood is such a big part of the film. Still worth a watch though. Disagree. I thought it was cack. Radcliffe is flat as bloody Keanu Reeves and the entire film is him walking around an empty dark house with the same gormless look on his face. Rubbish film. I still don't understand why people pay to see s t like this at a cinema, why would you pay somewhere to be scared for two hours? s t pay me the money and I'll spend all day hiding round corners in your house scaring you instead. I thought it was very weak too. A bit of an almost film for me that never realised it's potential. Also thought DR was just not right for the role, maybe I am struggling to get past seeing him as Harry Potter.

City of God lovers these are a must see The Elite Squad films are amazing; really, really good, especially for home-grown films as well. Watched The Ides of March - Polictical thriller with Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, PSH, Paul Giamatti, Rachel Evan Wood, Marisa Tomei - therefore you'd think it would be an excellent watch. IMO 5/10; the acting was all fine but the twist in the story seemed a little contrived and the subsequent actions of the main character were not at all what I was expecting (i.e. a lack of remorse and simply used the event to benefit him by getting his boss fired). I guess I would have liked to have seen some sense of retribution but hey-ho, that's not how the film played out.

Ice Age 4
Predictable fayre. Quite entertaining but the usual sort of storyline borrowed from half a dozen other films, a bit of action, a bit of wholesome schmaltz and you're done. These films tend to get better with repeated watchings with your kids. I wasn't keen on the last one because of the Simon Pegg character but the kids love it.

Water for Elephants
Robert Pattinson's parents die so he leaves home and jumps on the Benzini Brothers Circus train. As a vet he slowly becomes an integral part of the circus, subsequently falling for cicus owner's (Christopher Waltz) wife (Reese Witherspoon).
Not bad, not great. Kept my interest for two hours.
6.5/10
