Love TBBT, my housemate got me season 2 for a Christmas present and I watched it all in one day.
Might investigate catching up online with season 3.

Also - trying googling some of the stuff on Sheldon's whiteboards - the list of terms on the board behind his desk turned out to be real projects in the area that the character is supposed to be working in. I wonder if the formulae are real as well...
They do, apparently, try hard to ensure that the equations and projects are real and progress through the series.

So they say...
On the whiteboard next to the flat door in tonight's episode was the phrase "meta-material" and the symbols for permittivity and permeability. A quick google and wikipedia reveals that it's connected with materials with a negative refractive index, viz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metamaterial

Must be meant to relate to the Howard character's work, although it's never made clear what his specialism is really supposed to be...
He designs parts for the international space station, we saw his moving shelf in one episode. He's an MIT engineering master.

Quite a few times Howard tries to chat up women with something like

Howard said:
Maybe you're familiar with my work, it's currently orbiting the Earth at 120,000mph.
He designed part of the system for the ISS toilets. They have to fix it in an episode in S2 because there is a catastrophic flaw.

Caught up with BBT from yesterday, laughed all the way through, just brilliant!

My fave discovery is the actor who plays Sheldon may be a real live geek smile

Jim Parsons the actor
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1433588/

Jim Parsons the Visual Effects guy
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0961518/

They appear to be one and the same...though I am happy to be corrected.
