Yes, she was strangely dumped. I suppose the stories moved in another direction, plus I don't think the audience would approve of Lenard having an affair.
Was it ever explained?

There's been a few characters like that - what ever happened to Raj's girlfriend, not the one that mentioned but not seen this series yet, but the one that kept running out on him?

Every sitcom has 'bit' characters that are only relevant for an episode or two.

They have no real relevance to the long term development of the program, in the main, and thus there is no real need to have their departure explained.

Thus far, this series 8 has been pretty weak, IMO.

Perhaps their collective hearts are no longer in it, now they have secured all those $$millions per episode.

The latest episode didn't raise one laugh in our household - and we all usually love it!

If Series 8 is last night's offering on E4, I concur. It was very weak, the only good joke being the "comic book store van for picking up kids".

She does now look like a chubby choirboy.

But then I always preferred Bernadette anyway...

Penny's "frumping down" (for want of a better expression) doesn't have anything to do with her recent marriage by any chance? A similar thing happened with Rachel Riley from 'Countdown' - after her marriage her outfits became more demure; marriage broke up and she glammed up again.

The problem is E4 show the older ones all the time too, which is a constant reminder of how far it has declined.

As the blogger once said -" I'd drag my naked balls over a mile of broken glass to hear her fart through a walkie-talkie".

Just watched the latest E4 one - that bikini at the end puts pay to the 'frumpy clothes' comments! Woof!

As I said to Mrs Garyhun; it looks like she's got the type of body now that makes her looks like a butch lad in clothes but great naked spin
