Leonard had a fairly good role in "In Time"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1637688/?ref_=nm_knf_t...

And Kaley spent a lot of time effing and jeffing in "The Wedding Ringer"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0884732/?ref_=nm_knf_t...

Jim Parsons obviously was in "Home" which very much played on the "Sheldon-esque" mannerisms I thought.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2224026/?ref_=nm_knf_t...

So, they are starting to branch out. I'm just waiting for Bernadette to do something more "grown-up" cloud9

Robin Williams (Mork)
George Clooney (ER)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd rock from the sun)
Bradley Cooper (Alias)
Ashton Kutcher (That 70's Show)

These are just off the top of my head, and there are probably dozens more, but all of them got their big break on TV and none of them still drag that with them I think.
Of course, for every one of them there's a 100 who don't.
On the other hand, big stars are flocking to TV now so there's that biggrin.
Margott Robbie was once in neighbours.

TBBT wasn't their big break for all of them, the previous shows weren't TBBT big, but still pretty popular.

Johnny Galecki - David in Roseanne, 1992-1997 (but the earliest thing I've seen him in is Lampoons Christmas Vacation from 1989)
Kaley Cuoco - Bridget in 8 Simple Rules, 2002-2005
Mayim Bialik - Blossom, 1990-1995

It was a fabulous show with some great supporting actors too. The fact that Will and Carlton still hang out shows its endearing and enduring appeal for both of them.

True Blood

Many big names have left shows behind, acting range is a factor, but being mates/nice/right place goes a long way as well.
