Is this the final season then?
Supposedly, but I wouldn't bet against another 12 episodes of dead donkey flogging if this one has good ratings. US TV Execs aren't known for their 'love of the art'. If it sells, they're sell it. McAndy said:

I've been quite negative about it in recent years, but it's, oddly for me, gotten right under my skin and I'm mentally invested in the characters - I'd rather it end at the end of series 10, conclude the main story points, they're all well into their 30's now (characters and actors) and heading towards middle-age, the 'boring' years, let it end, I'd prefer that that it fall into some terrible week-by-week story when the story just re-sets at the end of every episode.

They commissioned 3 more early in 2014 - huge salaries for the main stars, but it's due to end at the end the next series. At the time they gave hints that they had a conclusive story in mind that would end at 10 - and they've been knocking off the main pillars of it recently, Leonard and Penny getting married, Sheldon popping his cherry. In series 10 there will be Baby, most of Penny and Leonard's Family being introduced (and Penny's surname in the process probably) there's little story left to tell - other than Raj's, but his character has been in sit-com purgatory since they killed off the Raj & Howard double act years ago.

I agree, I cannot see dragging it out further than another season ending well.I've been quite negative about it in recent years, but it's, oddly for me, gotten right under my skin and I'm mentally invested in the characters - I'd rather it end at the end of series 10, conclude the main story points, they're all well into their 30's now (characters and actors) and heading towards middle-age, the 'boring' years, let it end, I'd prefer that that it fall into some terrible week-by-week story when the story just re-sets at the end of every episode.

I agree. What started out as a program about young geeks is becoming too much like friends for my liking (the actors that play Leonard, Sheldon and Amy are all in their 40's BTW).Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
