Item on red button entertainment news today says that three of the stars of BBT are the highest-paid on TV at the moment, with an estimated $1m per episode each.

They have been paid that for some time now.
All the actors in 'Friends' were paid that years ago.

I've never thought of BBT as being anywhere near as big as 'Friends', though. Not quite sure why.

It didn't start out that way, it was too niche, where Friends was vanilla catch all. It's massive now though, as it goes through it's Friendsification.

Just watched Ep 4 of the new series and I haven't laughed so much in ages. If the others are going to be like this, they have nothing to worry about.

It's almost as if the writers have been reading this thread, taken all the criticisms to heart, and upped their game.

Or, if they're part-way through the deal they signed for several more series, perhaps they're getting close to a time when the negotiations start for a few more series, so need to give a good impression. [/cynic]

Couldn't agree less frown

I'm glad you enjoyed it but I'm really hoping this is the last series now. And yes, I know I don't have to watch it but I'm way past the point of no return now.

I've just watched this myself too - I thought it had some really good moments in it which made me laugh properly. Episode 3 was better but this is still better than most of Season 9 was - The whole season too.

just agreeing with the above. The start of S9 was poor and it felt like it was approaching a slow death.

The obvious weak point is now Raj.

For those that aren't viewing the episodes early, via various online services, it starts back up on E4 next Wednesday, 19th October at 8.30pm and is repeated the next day at 8pm.

Thank goodness I checked into PH tonight; I'd forgotten about this! Catching up now. Mildly amused so far.
