OH noticed a new episode was on, put it on, and I couldn't even be bothered to look up. Considering what a big fan I was when I first found TBBT, it's sad.
I've just started watching from season 1 on Netflix and the first five or six I've loved, since then (mainly when Penny had her haircut) I've not laughed/enjoyed it nearly as much. Couple of laughs here and there. The Raj's ex-girlfriends scene seemed a missed opportunity. They barely had one line each.
I suspect part of the problem is that there must be something in their contracts saying all the main characters get included in every episode so you fill half the time available with contractual obligatory dialogue, so hardly anything left to do anything interesting.

CBS confirmed earlier today that the spinoff, now officially titled as "Young Sheldon", will start filming / broadcasting on CBS later this year. It's expected to start around Autumn (or Fall if you're from the US ), and more than likely it will be tied into the broadcast schedule of what would be season 11 of TBBT (most likely to try to influence viewing figures).
Due to the success of TBBT for CBS it bypasses the normal pilot setup and has been signed straight to a full first season run and will evidently be "multi-season" although creators Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro have not said how long this will be.
Early casting states Sheldon will be played by Iain Armitage, as a nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper, whilst Zoe Perry will take on the role of a younger Sheldon's mother, whose real mother Laurie Metcalf plays the current role in TBBT.
Chuck Lorre has also confirmed that Jim Parsons will background narrate all episodes of the new show, as an adult Sheldon "looking back" on his formative years, and Jon Favreau, the man behind Iron Man and a recent re-make of The Jungle Book, will direct the first episode which has already been written by Steve Molaro.

Last night's did for me, I'm ooout.
I've loved this series for far longer than I ever thought possible for a silly little sit-com on E4. 10 years, 200+ episodes, but it's been a habit rather than a pleasure for too long now. I was only carrying on because I knew it was the last series and I hoped for a brilliant last ever episode that brings the whole thing to a conclusion, but no, another 48 eps of going through the motions, the same old jokes, the same old stories.
The Spin-Off can sod off too.
