It was quite funny though I thought for a change.

Glad you are 'reconnected' again.

It was a better episode than some of the others, funny in many parts

And I am indeed - thank you again smile

Cast members leaving? Could this be the end of it?

Click for (possible) spoilers.

Well if [one of the people mentioned in the link] leaves, [one of the remaining cast members] will have no-one to bounce off which will kill the show there and then.

No chance of this happening though, methinks (don't worry, no spoilers):

From the sounds of things they really should only do one more season, max.

Compared to the earlier seasons, this latest has be relatively dire, with one, perhaps two small giggles per 20 minute episode.

We have been re watching the seasons from the start (have then all on DVD box sets), and the fist 4 seasons never fail to give us all belly-laughs, so many stand out moments, Howard's robot hand being clamped to his junk being just one. The latest just isn't in the same league, comedy-wise. It's more mellow drama, and there's always plenty of that kind of series to chose from....

For some good LOL moments these days, I can strongly advise Brooklyn Nine-Nine, available on Netflix.

Used to be a big BBT fan, last season especially has been dire.

The only way S10 is going to be any good is for them to decide at the start of the writing process that it is the Final Season and everything in the season is working towards a conclusion (such as did with 'How I Met Your Mother', even though the punchline was rubbish...)

I was just going to say... the final season of HIMYM would be a terrible example to follow biggrin.
Much preffered Friends, with all of them 30-something, going their own way with kids, marriage,...

2 possibilities.

1) It's finally dawned on them that it is an embarrassment now and want to get out with the chance of a relatively unscathed future career.

2) They want more money.

That is the answer I suspect.

That link is pure click-bait, the wording is purposely vague to make it sound like Leonard and Penny might leave and the others stay etc, truth is they all negotiated their contracts together at the end of series 7 - 8,9 & 10 are their 'big money' series and season 10 should end with the final ever episode.

Well I hope so anyway, I can take or leave Leonoard, I know he's meant to be the star of it, but he's the most boring charater for me - but otherwise the series is running out of steam rapidly now and better to end when there's still something to show.

Whoah easy on the wagging finger of shame! Would you do that to somebodies face if they misunderstood something you said?

Why would the quality of the show drop? They have been going brilliantly for four seasons already and I've heard no plans to change the writers line up.
Sorry, wasn't meant to be finger pointing smile Just to make clear you misunderstood me.

As to why?
I don't know, I follow How I Met Your Mother as well and that really had a big "dip" in quality (I think somewhere around S04/S05), enough to put me off it. I started looking again and now it's back on track.

I just hope they don't run out of steam too soon.
But, the characters are great, put ANY of them together with another and you can have a brilliant show and a dozen of jokes ready. Just think about the used characters: all combinations of them are brilliant/funny, with Leonard maybe being the most bland/normal one.
It's all cool, I just have a bizarre hatred of smilies as I feel people use them to say things they would never say to somebodies face!

I can't see TBBT suffering from any writing woes, Chuck is pretty focussed on this now as TAAHM is pretty much starting again so isn't his main focus. I know what you mean about HIMYM, I don't think it diped so much as had a hugely strong story for a while and couldn't really fill that gap again with anything once that story was over (Marshall and Lily's story, baby, in laws etc)

If anything TBBT has already had its dip. I read an interview with Kaley Kuoco where she says this series is going to be more geeky and less about relationships, so I guess some consider the coupley bits to be unworthy of TBBT!
Just accident, I came past this comment from 2011 hehe if only we knew.

I see from social media that Katey Sagal has been cast as Penny's mother.

Which will be amusing for fans of '8 Simple Rules'.

If Penny's mother appears, surely we will at last find out what her surname is.
I bet it's something really embarrassing.

Oddly enough, she would share a mother with Jake Peralta from B99 so that would make them brother & sister!

I like Katey Sagal as an actress, she was great in a Sons of Anarchy.
