Well I'm just watching an episode with Bob Newhart "what am I doing in a swamp... dressed like Friar Tuck?" and joking about his own mortality. It's the best thing on TBBT for a long time!!

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #456

The government of China has decided that "The Big Bang Theory" is not appropriate for viewing. I have to assume there was some sort of formal process involved in this decision. In all likelihood, a gaggle of communists sat in a darkened room and watched a few episodes. I like to think they took notes that were later used to formulate an official document that detailed the corrosive cultural effects caused by the shenanigans of Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Wolowitz, Koothrappali, Amy and Bernadette. I like to think that during these screenings one of them laughed out loud and was promptly sent to a re-education camp on the outskirts of Urumqi. I like to think one of them was reassured by how often the characters on the show eat Chinese takeout. I like to think there's a Chinese word for shenanigans. Regardless, the whole affair makes me very happy. The overlords of 1.3 billion people are afraid of our sitcom. Exactly what we were going for!
...we're also amongst the best....

I'm now up to S10E10

after a promising start the series is rapidly running out of ideas.
The baby storyline featuring Raj and pathetic Stuart is really terrible.

I'm up to date as well and I'm hoping it's the last season. I'm purely watching out of habit now frown

Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj all earned over $20m in 2016, they're not going to be the ones to stop it!

Really? I think S10 is better than many of the previous ones.

S10 is better than it's been for a while but S10E10 was weak.

They need to get back to the geeky stuff, when was the last time they played rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock?

Weak episode last night, I'm coming to really not like Raj. Dialogue between Sheldon, his girl, Penny was very funny, but Raj needs to get shot in the head. Even Stuart is more appealing and he has been the archetypal loser since his introduction.

The only moment in the present series on E4 when I've genuinely laughed was a couple of weeks ago - the one where Sheldon tried to seduce Amy whilst wearing a flamenco outfit and she had to pretend that she wasn't turned on, only to come out in a hot sweat after leaving the room. Very well performed and a real LOL moment, but these are few and far between these days.

It's a 'no' from me.

Also getting to that stage again with TBBT - the only things keeping me in are a) it's short and b) an "I've started so I'll finish..." kind of obstinacy.

It's in the nature of the commissioning networks to flog their horses until they're well and truly dead, and then check whether there's any profit in zombie horse flogging.

I have a feeling this could end up being similar to what happened to Joey, the Friends spinoff, when the network back then tried to cash in / follow on from the ending of a long running and generally pretty successful show / franchise.

So on that basis, it will likely get decent viewing figures for the first mini season / 12 episodes when people tune in to see what it's about, etc. By the end of the first season the figures then start to drop off and the network will continue to pay for another season, or two, hoping it will turn around but instead it dies off in an embarrassing manner.

If their going to do a spin off, they should do a series about his sister. I'd watch that.

I'd watch a series about Raj's sister.

(As long as Raj wasn't in it with her.)
