If you can stand his style of commentary, the directors commentary is good on this - lots of issues with the "autumnal" forest scenes!

My son went to "dress like a hero from a story" school party as Dutch....complete with flat top buzz cut! (all the other 8 year olds were peter pan and willy wonka's.) He wanted to wander round all day kicking open doors yelling knock knock...talked him out of that though.
Thats made me chuckle...the thought of some 8 year old running round his school kicking down doors yelling "knock knock!" in a bad Austrian accent whilst chomping on a fake cigar!

Talking of the director....what the hell happened to John? Predator and Die Hard then down hill fast in quantity and quality. His work on Die Hard was pioneering, again - watch the commentary, some of his edits (which look normal now) where just not seen before outside Europe....not to mention his habit of having people speak in other languages and non-subtitle it...brave for a yank audience.

In fact..is he not still having legal issues????

The reason its called the mini gun is because the first gatling style guns made by General Electric - the M61, fired a 20mm round, due to changing military requirements a higher rate of fire was needed and so the design was scaled down to fire 7.62mm, the result was the M134 and was commonly called the minigun as it was a scaled down version.

The project team next to ours deals with ship mounted mini guns and GPMGs which is pretty cool.

We've got a one of these on its mount inbetween our sections:

Have you ever stayed late, and when your sure everyone else has gone, picked up the gun and done your best Arnie / Ventura impression - come on admit it you have haven't you?

Wiki has some interesting bits. Apparently jean claude van damme was originally cast as the predator and did a few scenes which are still in the film. He was replaced by kevin peter hall who was harry in harry and the hendersons.
IMDB says that those scenes were not used
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093773/trivia
"According to an interview with director John McTiernan, the "hole in the jungle" appearance of the Predator was played by Jean-Claude Van Damme in a "blue screen" (actually red) suit. Van Damme quit after two days, unhappy with being cast as an uncredited special effect. The alien was scrapped, redesigned and was eventually played by 7'2" Kevin Peter Hall".

One of my top 3 action films and one I can quote pretty much verbatim. John McT nailed it on the money!

The reboot is being directed by Nimrod Atal, by produced by Rodriquez by Troublemaker Studios, which he owns.Danny Trejo is in it as well as Tropher Grace ( Venom in Spiderman 3) and Adrian Brody (King Kong). The screen shots look awesome, with Adrian Brody looking part-ic-ularly badass!!!!

The second one is ok.Not great and Danny glover is so badly cast in that role.He never had me convinced. Maybe it was because for me he will always be Roger Murtagh in Lethal Weapon. Only good bit in that is when Gary Busey gets his head cut of with that frisbee-o-death in the meat house. The fact that the predator changes his vision also felt like a cope out.

Shane Black, who played Hawkins, went onto be a pretty successful action flick screenwriter. He'd sold Lethal Weapon just before the Predator acting gig,

If you think it's the best quote ever, then at least get it right.
It's actually "Goaah! Get to the choppah!"
