I am just about sticking with it. I find it hard to see past the characters from The Wire, I just see them as Bunk and Lester etc.

The violinist is quite hot though and surprisingly the music isnt very good.

Had it saved in my Sky+ box for a couple of weeks, finally watched the first episode last night.

Enjoyed it; enjoyed the music too.

Well when I read the comments on here was a bit disappointed, but to be honest I'm enjoying it, and the music too. OK spent some time working there pre-Katrina, and not been back for a host of reasons.

Really love how they are portraying the tourists, and the disdain for Bourbon St.

Impressed by that pole dancer stripping off whilst hanging upside down, not seen that one before.

Also amused by some of John Goodman's phrases, haven't been able to work the "as cool as a cucumber up an Archbishop's ass" into conversation yet. Must try harder.

I'm enjoying it but them I'm a sucker for anything HBO. I can recommend the soundtrack too.. plus it's fun spotting the Wire cast members (Prez and Slim Charles most recently) and references (always pleasure, not business in this week's episode, unlike The Greek!)

I always liked Prez, still waiting for Treme to get going, but I am still there.

Just found this link by chance as I was looking up the details of one of the musicians spotted in a recent episodeto figure out what he'd been doing recently.

Antoine Batiste is strictly a cooked-fish-eating motherf*cker.

The Bunk is strictly a suit and tie motherf*cker.

Not sure about the ending, season 2 will be tricky to create another character set as so many key ones have told their story.

Don't get the Indians frankly.

But it did grasp the NOLA "lack of work ethic"

I dont know if I`ll bother with season 2. The first was quite disappointing, I only stuck with it because of the wire connection.

The Indians are an old tradition dating back to the 19th century, google/wiki is your friend. While I didnt get them either I thought they brought a bit of colour and something different to an otherwise disappointing series.

Just finished watching series one; very enjoyable, many likeable characters, although I’m a bit annoyed that they killed off Creighton.

Been busy at Spotify trying to find all the music too!

Best description I've read of Treme yet "It's like, Glee, but for fans of The Wire."

I may watch it again once I've started/finished the Wire, but on it's own, it's not worth watching.

Season two gets better. It seems that the cries of "it's not enough like The Wire" got heard because there's a lot more po-lice work in there. And also a hell of a lot more music.

When I was young, I downloaded a 300mb file using a 56kbps modem. It took 5 days. That was slow. A 1mbps line would be plenty to download anything in a reasonable time (one one hour SD show a day sort of thing), provided you could find a legal source.
