No-one watching the 2nd series of this?
Absolutely brilliant. Still a slow builder but more happening in the first 3 episodes of this series than in all of the 1st one.
This and The Wire - which I missed first time around - are two things I really look forward to watching after the 4 O'Clock club in the pub on Sunday afternoon.
Although I have to admit to having to watch every episode of The Wire twice, so as I can understand what they are saying! End of series 2 very cool though....

Yep enjoying this series, it's different from the first.
Thought Antoine (Bunk) wasn't going to get his st together with the Soul Apostles. Though that dancer was a cheeky minx.
Feel real empathy with and sorrow for Albert Lambreaux, especially over the insurance ( typical!) and the RoadHome malarkey. Can see where that one is going, but knowing David Simon could be totally wrong with that.

I enjoyed this series far more than the first. Loads more happening. Music is better too, although that might just be my mind telling me that it's better.
I thought back about this at the end of the series. The music isn't better (it was awesome to start with), they just let it run a lot longer in the show this time round, so you get pretty much whole songs. Great move I think.Agree about Chicago Code, that was travesty of a decision, especially when you see what Fox chose to run with instead.
The show had too many balls to juggle with, and not enough time to do it, and wasn't quite sure where it was going in the end.
Perhaps better that it ended with a what might have been, than 3 seasons in they completely lost the plot ending up as just another cop show.

I am still waiting for something to happen after a false dawn mid way through the first series. John Goodman had the right idea.
It's true to life - remember all of the ruined neighbourhoods they are pretending it's 2007 in are still ruined in 2011. Nothing ever happens in New Orleans. Thom987 said:
Was really shocked when I saw it. It seemed very real.
Sad end to one of the better characters.
Certainly grabbed my attention at the end that episode. He felt like he was going to be one of those good characters that were going to come and go through the whole life time of the show.Sad end to one of the better characters.
So I gave it a second chance. Now I have four series of the Wire under my belt. Lester and the Bunk...most amusing to see Bunk is a tee and Lester go ape st on some sneak thief (who completely deserved it).
The acting is subtle and nuanced like the Wire.
John Goodman's size has got out of hand.
Seen eps 1 and 2 so far.

He's lost a lot of weight since that - he's in The Artist and looks merely morbidly obese there. The acting is subtle and nuanced like the Wire.
