Ah, the rolleyes smilie.
Well done.
It's a supposed to be a gritty police drama. Some sort adherence to reality would help its cause, no?
Otherwise it just becomes a parody.
It's got an underlying fantasy element, it always has, it's a very stylised version of real life, if you're looking for hyper realistic you wont find it with Luther. Well done.

I think its great stuff, very entertaining. Those who criticise its authenticity over procedural matters are totally missing the point.
Luther is about the dark, scary fringes of life and the dark, scary people who live on these fringes. It does not and should not be procedurally accurate. That would slow it down and turn it into just another crime show.
It is a parody, a grim fantasy, but covering subjects that we know are real.
Alice should have been in it more though. That character deserves her own series.

I don't think it is. A gritty police drama would be The Wire - utterly brilliant in it's own right but not 'entertainment' for 90% of the masses.Well done.
