The final installment of the series, executive produced by Graham Yost and starring Timothy Olyphant, has not been formally ordered yet as Justified just launched its fifth season.

“It was really Graham and Tim Olyphant’s decision [to end it],” Landgraf said at TCA today. “We talked about it a year ago, and they felt that the arc of the show and what they had to say [fit better with six seasons than seven]. Regretfully, that’s their decision.”

Justified’s fifth season opened with 2.84 million viewers last week, down 21% from the 3.59 million who tuned in for the Season 4 opener.

Seth Bullock and Raylan Givens are similar in many ways not least the cowboy element but the "calm angry man" persona carries through nicely.

I'm up to S01E08 now. I've seen a lot of the Deadwood actors in this one, including Bullock, Dan Dority, Harry Manning, and Reverend Smith. I wonder if any more will crop up.

Good.

Much as I'd like decent series to continue, given the dross that's on most evenings, it will make a nice change to see it end properly, rather than in an unseemly, unsatisfying rush because the network have cancelled it half way through a season.

I've just finished season 4, which was the very best of the seasons so far.

Think I'm going to wait a while before getting hold of season 5 so I can watch them all together as I have the first 4 seasons.

And this is why we get it online. No risk of a channel in the UK deciding to drop something mid-arc, no having to find out which channel it'll even be on, no having to wait months before it makes it 'over here'.

Netflix have it right; the new season of House of Cards (2013) will be available in a fortnight; the whole season, in one go, ready to watch as you want to...

I've only just discovered Justified. Downloaded the whole five series from Sky on demand and watched the first eight episodes since the weekend. It's brilliant. I now don't want to watch anything else on telly other than more of this programme - but I've only got another 57 episodes to go!

Saw season 5 via Apple ITunes in the US not long ago....fantastic stuff and it is now on Sky Box sets. Final series starts filming in the US very soon I believe.
