It’s not an A1 show like the Sopranos or the Wire where I would spend my own money to buy the DVDs, but still it gets a very good, solid B+ rating from me.

I'd put Sopranos and The Wire above it too, but it's light-years above the likes of The Shield, any of the CSIs, etc. IMO

Finally got around to watching the episode from Thursday. Intense, I swear every episode of this season I think to myself wow that was manic I wonder if next weeks will be more subdued. Oh how wrong haha.

I never understood why Southland was placed in such unpopular slots in the schedules, I really liked it but it didn't get much of a chance in the UK.

I finally managed to watch this from my Sky+ backlog and blitzed through all 10 episodes in three days over last weekend.

It's such a damn shame that this didn't get picked up for another series. It's some of the consistently best TV drama I've seen in ages, with some excellent acting, storylines and cinematography. It rubs salt into the wound to see how much mediocre stuff gets renewed while series like this don't. Ho hum.

I read that there was talk last year of a possible movie. It all seems to have gone quiet so I assume that the talk didn't amount to anything, but it would have been nice to see how the cliffhanger ending played out....

Late to the party on this but have just chundered through all 5 series, why the hell was this cancelled THE most gripping, sometimes heart rending cop show I have ever seen! Utterly brilliant, such a shame.
