Yeah, I read a while back that it hadn't been renewed for a sixth series. Which is a crying shame, IMO.

Ah well, at least we have series 5 still to look forward to, whenever C4/E4 pull their finger out and eventually air it. Probably at 3am, judging by previous scheduling

EDIT: A quick Google throws up an article from a couple of months back which confirms that C4 had done a deal to get the first showing rights to series 5, and it's likely to be shown "Autumn 2013". Best head over to Sky Never Miss to make sure my series reminder is set!

It does baffle me when shows like this get canned.

Easily one of the best Police based television shows around. Airing times in the UK and lack of publicity mean a lot of people haven't even heard of it.

Easily one of the best TV shows to come from the US and considering some of the shows coming out that's high praise.

Maybe it's not good in the US at moment to show the Police in what could be at times a bad light.

Not watched S5 yet but what a shame that it’s been cancelled.

Can’t they do a couple more 1-hr episodes to wrap everything up? (like the Big C final season)

Lydia with the shotgun kicking arse (S1/S2?) in her house and the OC guy having dinner with his sister after a tough day (S1) were just some of the best and memorable scenes in this great drama.

I realise it's the USA so obviously a different legal/policing system, but Southland is one of the most accurate portrayals of modern policing I've ever seen. The various relationships (policeolice, policeublic and policeerps) are all absolutely spot on.

Agreed, although I'm kind of glad they did cancel the show now rather than 5 seasons later after they've milked it for all it's worth. One more season would have been nice though.

That's why I'm glad it's being done now. So you look back and think that it was a great show, rather than it getting to season 8 or something and everyone saying this is awful now we've had enough.

Was that the one aired tonight on More4? I missed it as I was at work so watching it in the morning. That's pretty much how I've felt after each episode, easily the best TV series after BoB IMHO.
