My only worry is how or if they will be able to keep up that level of excellence.

Steady on chaps, I thought the default PH position was that the BBC is crap and the TV licence should be scrapped and the whole she-bang shut down?

Finally. One blinding ray of sunshine in an otherwise morbidly disappointing Christmas schedule.

hehe

To be honest the BBC has pockets of excellence - "Sherlock" and "Frozen Planet" being two of them. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything of a similar quality being comissioned by its commercial rivals.

Liked the idea of the "faked" terrorist atrocity, wonder if that would actually be doable?

Fabulous viewing and the best bit of TV over the period by far. Loved it.

I believe Jeremy Brett (THE Holmes) would approve of BC's portrayal.

Being a PHer I have to say "Nice XJ too" smile

That was excellent, I hope they can keep up the quality of the writing (and acting!) in future episodes. 3 a year doesn't seem enough.
