Sherlock - BBC1

There's definitely something about him. I was channel-hopping and caught a part of his interview on GMTV. Even on there he was broodingly magnetic
I still can't believe the stellar cast and script, and all that magnificence - for three episodes It was just hitting its stride in this last episode...

3 episodes but 4.5 hours. Great show
Loved the opening scene, very ph. (did it have any relationship to the rest of the plot, or was it James Bond esq end of the last mission) I know there was quite a bit of eastern European influence).
I actually shouted at the ending. The actor playing Moriarty was bonkers.

What that's it? Noooooooo :O Travesty. I thought it was going to be an ongoing series. Explains the end of tonight's episode then
I'm so sad - I thought TV had suddenly gotten watchable Back to back-to-back tat
The guy who played Moriarty was excellent - outstanding piece of acting
He certainly chewed the scenery, but not in a good way. He seemed to REALLY want to be Michael Sheen; perhaps Michael Sheen would have been a better casting? The rest of it was good in a 'Hustle' kind of way; sit back, be entertained and try not to think too much about the details.I'm so sad - I thought TV had suddenly gotten watchable Back to back-to-back tat

Very watchable, but still not without flaws. The gay guy being the arch nemesis (Moriaty?) was extremely obvious on two counts:
(1) there was absolutely no other reason to spend so much time on him; and
(2) introducing the arch nemesis as a seemingly inconsequential, yet memorable bit-part player early in the episode has been done to death in so many other drama series.
I have only two other complaints: it's still too long for what it is, they could take at least 15 minutes out of it without losing any of the appeal and Martin Freeman as Watson. Perhaps the subtlety of his performance is escaping me, but I just find that he's showing us practically nothing about his character, whilst the story line hints that there's more involved than what's on the surface.
I always thought Holmes was supposed to be the enigma, juxtaposed against the conventional Watson. Freeman's Watson seems to have issues that we are given no clue about and which aren't explored at all. There's no depth there.
Still, that being said, it's still easily the best drama on TV at the moment and for some time before that.

You're forgetting the really obvious one.. He's gay and he works in IT. That's believable.(1) there was absolutely no other reason to spend so much time on him; and

Did anyone else think that Holmes would make a good Doctor Who?

What a great series this was. Thoroughly enjoyable and well acted. I wonder if they'll do another.
There was a piece in the Radio Times which suggested that we'd have to wait until next year for further episodes. It didn't say for certain that more had been commissioned but went a fair way to saying that there was more in the pipeline.A bit late on this, but i did really enjoy this series. Agree with the Doctor Who comments, but thats not a bad thing. Personally I thought it was somewhere inbetween Doctor Who and The Mentalist. The only 'disappointing' bit for me was Moriarty, he did look like some sort of morphed together version of Ant and Dec, the accent was weird, and I couldn't get into him as the 'arch enemy'. I think they were going for a John Simm as the Master character (Doctor Who again there), but it didn't work.
