Someone told me that Stobart drivers are paid around £8 per hour. That equates to £16.5k which sounds like very little money, less that half what I earn, and I am very far from wealthy.

Does anyone know if this is the real figure? Are they really so poorly paid?

And that's shunting - not nights out and on the road.

£8.00 an hour is utter crap - some drivers earn £40k a year in all different areas of the industry, not just Stobart.

firstly, this show is so o.t.t, i'm sure most know that, but i bet there are plenty that don't and just believe the bull/hype. rolleyes
as for money. there are a hell of alot of people in the industry that would regard £8 p.h a good rate.
when i was on general and told people what i earned per week, they thought it was good money.
then i told them how many hours a week i did for said wage, they soon changed their minds.
i'm lucky that i've found a lory driving job, that pays a decent wage, but as with most thngs in life, it comes at a cost.
depends what you want outof life i suppose.

This programme is jokes honestly the drama and suspense kills me sometimes, also some of the st they get up to whether it be driving a loaded wagon onto wet grass or yesterday's oh noes Parked cars!!

Best one had to be Stobarts road train! Geeze it's only a wagon and drag.

Like I've said before:

"One false move and the trailer could be TOTALLED!"

No, it'll just need a 15 minutes TLC from a fitter before it goes out on a night trunk.

It's about £8.20 plus a £13 per shift tax free meal allowance and a £3.50 driving bonus on days.

Trampers earn a lot more as they also get £22 overnight money.

20% extra load and 20% more fuel efficient? Does not compute.

20% more efficient across the fleet due to 20% fewer runs... I think you misunderstood.

How many more crap trailer / penis jokes can they make?

Well it holds an extra 4 pallets. I'm assuming the fuel figure comes from the amount of journeys they will save.
